You don't get it sonny, the honking went on forever. Every treeline, full of truckers honking. It still haunts me to this day, they call it the phantom honking!

>The honking is never going to end, is it?
That's... the point. Aside from giving everyone in the vicinity sleep depervation, it also makes the people affected (who are like ~80% liberal, being conservative) pissed off at the police, local government and Trudeau all at once. When this over the primary question they will be asking themself is why nobody even tried to forcibly disperse these Nazi chuds.

Was playing my mmo today making fun of people in chat for the honking, then I got promptly unable to type in chat so we'll see if I get permabanned. For reference, I made a bunch of Floyd Jokes with a few warnings.
What MMO?

maaaaaan, It;s not like you hit him with a truck right? should be fine/

Wouldn't be surprised, God knows I've thought of heading to Alberta or Sask. Maybe it's mostly the cities that the feds flood with browns? I've had friends play "spot the white person" in Calgary and Edmonton.
It's the cities, yeah. The immigrants absolutely detest the weather and cold, and are not particularly fond of the beauty we have up north and so don't venture beyond their havens in the cities unless they absolutely have to.

Honestly most of the immigrants I talk to have consistently voiced wishing to return to their countries at some point, which is understandable honestly.

So many of us are of German origin, so this land is natural to us, but I can tell the immigrants fucking hate it and have no desire to explore or pan outward.

I doubt this is true but goddamn is it funny.

Depends, What do you canucks got by way for a rampage squad up there? If he thinks he can pull a post facto optical win he will. it's in his filthy castro blood
More privately owned firearms than citizens in Canada. LOTS of them in Northern Ontario.

And again, many groups within Law Enforcement and the Armed Forces have openly stated that they're maple-flavored Oath Keepers and will defect. If Trudeau tries to pull an Assad. Ottawa becomes Aleppo. And that's before local goons in the rest of the country begin besieging their local fed outpost.

The image you have in your head of Canada is entirely based on docile bugmen living in Toronto. Most of Canada lives rural, and those rcountry rednecks are very much the same as southern red-necks in the US, perhaps even to the point ex-confederates would blush.

You'd have a bunch of dudes with meth-ventilation systems like Bane running around in scrap-built death machines constructed out of salvaged 70s vehicles with almost no electronic components wearing body armor gerry-rigged from AR500 targets armed with carbines pretty quick.

Pretty confident the American good ole' boys would start killing border guards to get in on the action, and then North America becomes New Africa for a few years.

Canada very much relies on leaving people alone in order to continue to function. The authoritarian dystopia only exists in cities. If you go out into the country, you're lucky to see Mounties inside the larger small towns. They're too spread out to do anything effective, and truth be told the same applies to the armed forces. Lots of small bases people don't know about or remember all over the place, but they don't have a lot of guys either. Then factor in that most of them aren't there out of love of country but simply a way out of the Atlantic provinces, and they aren't too likely to help the local mountie detachment in the event of a civil uprising. Some will, but they'll have their own problems to worry about before they ever get off base.

Let me regale you with a story from an ex-soldier former co-worker. One time they were running a bunch of tanks down the highway between bases. Had the treads off so they could move fast, and they were driving above the limit. A mountie showed up and tried to pull the convoy over. The commander of the rear tank just swung the turret around and lowered the cannon. Mountie took a hard-left across traffic into a median. There were no other attempted interventions before they reached their destination. Discipline for the tank commander? "Please don't fuck with mounties like that."

Healthcare doesn't have to change. Alberta would just have to bring back healthcare premiums and merge that with blue cross to offer a state-run solution that everyone can access and which would also force other providers to keep their rates low in order to compete in Alberta.

This really isn't that hard to figure out.

As for the political stuff, the diversity of political leanings is what would make Alberta a good candidate for statehood. Edmonton tends to vote left in federal politics, while Calgary votes right, which wouldn't upset the power balance as Alberta would end up with two electors based on our population as far as I can remember.

Plus American currency would make trade easier, and US citizenship would improve global travel. We would also see an increase in tourism since we wouldn't be international anymore. It would also be easier for people to move back and forth between Alberta and Texas for oil stuff. Joining the US would also put to bed all the obstruction on Keystone XL, which is a net positive for everyone involved.
Never put as much thought on the healthcare as your post did, but thank you the extra input my dude.

Didn't bring up the tourist aspect, but goddamn, just thinking about it would be great economically. Jasper, Banff & Lake Louise would get a boost, Big Valley Jamboree would garner more country fans to see it, the Calgary Stampede would get even more publicity, Vulcan would be easier to advertise for the Trekkies, Drumheller would garner even more tourism for its dinosaurs. There's money in them plains.

Honestly never thought about the Keystone XL stuff either. Only issue then is Biden fucking it up, so that would likely be on hold until a republican gets into office again.

Apparently Trudeau just flew to Germany. Even if you're a diehard leftist, seeing your leader completely abandon you in a crisis that he created has to make something start to click, right? Right?

I've had to drive up to the Yukon I know There's some great scary bastards in the great white north. But those people are in a city rn, so what kind of bat does trudy's security teams swing. if it has to be over quick say, so he can use whatever justification he wants before theres time for a counter narrative to spread.

Also if we have to annex alberta you throw some beers, see about getting you installed as the Kadyrov of Canada lol.

American Truck Simulator is 75% on steam, coincidence?

Is only around $5 + Truckersmp mod = virtual honk protest...

They'll get over it. They aren't crippled with the politically induced anxiety disorder of their neurotic owners. And, again, the truckers brought their pets too. Lots of guys have road dogs. Or if you are an oddball like me a road cat.

People just kinda forget that OTR truckers live in those things. It's home away from home. There is nothing they are subjecting the people of Ottawa to that they aren't living as well.
So how accurate to the life of a trucker is "Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing"? I assume it's a 100% accurate simulation.

100% this. And it's only getting worse.

The convoy isn't a crisis to anyone outside of the government. It's very heartwarming that he fled the country like a fucking coward. It's like when top Nazi party members fled to South America when shit wasn't looking too hot for Germany.

He has to come back sooner or later, and when he does, the trucks will be waiting (and honking).

The best part is you can watch this strategy pay dividends in real time.
