This is generally the case. The most radical leftists and supporters of TPTB (but I repeat myself) in my personal experience are rich urbanites whove inherited their wealth and never worked an honest day in their lives. You're part of a union that has you literally set up as a second or third class citizen. If you don't speak French you are denied access to public jobs and opportunities like Public scholarships. You'll even be excluded from private scholarships because the culture is wired that way. There's an even more exclusive club and that is bilingual people who speak both languages. They get even more special privileges and exclusive access to jobs and opportunities that often only need one language to begin with. That is not even mentioning the privileges granted to various provinces or how representation is distributed or how money is basically given to criminal organizations via Quebec.

Alberta's population grows at 16% a year, while Ontario grows at 5% a year. It's a matter of time before tensions get too high.

I have two opinions on this.

First, if we were to join the states, I'd be fine with that. Main issues would be the medical system changing and potential electoral fuckery within Calgary & Edmonton (they've been voting conservative federally, but locally they have a liberal mindset festering within)

For separation, also fine with it but if it is to be sustainable, I personally feel Saskatchewan and Manitoba would have to come along. Saskatchewan has more farmland than Alberta for a stable income and food supply. Manitoba would give access to Hudson's Bay and in turn the Atlantic Ocean. I wouldn't mind the Eastern half of BC joining too as that gives additional income through forestry & vineyards, as well lock in the Rocky Mountains. It would likely cause a metric fuckton of strife for the territories as they would be completely separated from Eastern Canada by land and would cause a shitstorm of shipping issues along the BC coast (do you go through the states, do you go through the new country that hates you, or does Canada develop a road through the territories and make a port?), but that would become Ottawa's problem.

Healthcare doesn't have to change. Alberta would just have to bring back healthcare premiums and merge that with blue cross to offer a state-run solution that everyone can access and which would also force other providers to keep their rates low in order to compete in Alberta.

This really isn't that hard to figure out.

As for the political stuff, the diversity of political leanings is what would make Alberta a good candidate for statehood. Edmonton tends to vote left in federal politics, while Calgary votes right, which wouldn't upset the power balance as Alberta would end up with two electors based on our population as far as I can remember.

Plus American currency would make trade easier, and US citizenship would improve global travel. We would also see an increase in tourism since we wouldn't be international anymore. It would also be easier for people to move back and forth between Alberta and Texas for oil stuff. Joining the US would also put to bed all the obstruction on Keystone XL, which is a net positive for everyone involved.
