The people who have the stronger claim on the grounds of justice and moral right - the people who are suffering under what is a form of debt slavery, even though it's a very mild form - are the people who are much much weaker.
Nobody had a gun put to their head to sign on the dotted line for a quarter million loan for 4 years of feminist underwater basket weaving. "Weakness" rings a bit hollow when grown-ass adults are making poor decisions of their own free will.

As to fucking things up, the problem is non-dischargeable debt backed by feds - this is a business they shouldn't be in.
This is why God sent His Son to die for us, because it takes that much to get people to even consider not being total dickwads and do a fraction of what they obviously ought to in order to have a good world to live in. This is why that story is told with the language of debt and forgiveness of debt.
Yeah, see.. slavery was a thing in Jesus' time. He spoke of treating slaves well, not demanding their release.

Jackson appears as if she’s being groomed for the role and has a better resume (courtesy of Obama and Biden), so she’d probably be a more likely pick unless the dems are thinking strictly about longevity. Kruger OTOH has a meager resume, and the fact that her wiki page lists her as a possible future candidate for SCOTUS nom despite that just screams affirmative action. In addition, here are some of the other names being thrown around:

-Michelle Childs
-Andrea Wood
-Candace Jackson-Akiwumi

Rest assured, our government is going to evaluate all potential nominees for qualification and constitutional grasp. I mean, there’s NO WAY they’d choose some idiot whose only ‘qualifier’ is something they had no say/control over, like skin color, right? Right?

Twitter has always been a cesspool of hypocrisy to be frank.
Twitter just allows bigotry from all angles to thrive on it just look at bill Palmer for example he fuels the hate and evil yes bill palmer is evil even though his eyes his acts not to but we all know he is forty five pushing forty six year old man acting like the people he hates.

Is it just me or are they shooting themselves in the foot with the timing? Not that I mind or anything, but it feels like it would be worth more politically if he were to retire closer to midterms so they could actually campaign on it. Now they're in a rush to get someone by 10/3, and that means all the energy will be gone from the argument, they won't be able to say 'vote democrat to give Biden a pick now!!" it'll just be "hey look at this we got Bidens pick in and it didn't change anything!"
They could but it would be a massive gamble. They are already going into the midterms at a massive disadvantage, and the Repubs could also campaign on "preventing some leftist yes man from be appointed to the SCOTUS". This is the safest route for them at the moment so the big question is how are they going to fuck it up? My money is the progs throwing a wrench into the works.

Acktchually, it was Harry Reid who axed the filibuster for judicial nominees.

McConnell was Majority Leader toward the end of Obama's 2nd term, and blueballed the Dems out of a nomination hearing for Merrick Garland.
He fucking told Reid he'd regret doing it too, in one of the best examples of a politician calling his shot.

If he's going to pigeonhole himself into picking a black woman like his VP pick, he might as well go full clown world. I'm ready for Justice Woopi Goldberg.

the big question is how are they going to fuck it up?

Have we heard anything directly from Breyer yet? Is it possible they are doing a media show right now to put pressure on him to retire, as some kind of extreme gaslighting? Are they banking on him just folding in the face of a massive PR campaign or something? Do they think that if they just convince 'everyone' (ie their echo chambers) that he'll retire that he just will?

That would be peak Biden, for Breyer to just angrily yell that 'Ill be off the bench when I'm dead' at some reporter while getting his mail and completely fuck their expensive blitz.

What is it with niggers and made up names?

What is it with niggers and made up names?
Because they think that white names are "slave names." I think it started in the 1960's when Malcom X talked about it but it was really popularized by the Roots miniseries in the 1970's where Toby gets rid of his slave name and renames himself Kunta Kinte.

Yep, no announcement so far:

Fingers crossed that Breyer lol-nopes this.
Fingers crossed. How great would it be if the initial rumblings were the result of the administration in conjunction with the MSM putting on some sort of coercive retirement campaign in the hopes that Breyer would fold, yet he hangs on? I could see that, because after all, they are in desperate need of anything that resembles a win…

If I was in Breyer’s position and was principally concerned over the image of the court/wanting to avoid the appearance of overt politicization, that^ maneuvering would piss me off to no end. In fact, it’d have the opposite effect- I’d stay in the seat just to spite them.
