Why would you buy fake earbuds? (for clout, I know). I do not believe they sound good, even the real airpods have poor to average reviews for sound quality and you can get very good ones from companies that actually specialise in audio equipment for a similar price or less. I can understand buying some designer fakes if you really like the piece independently of the logo but don't think it could ever be worth the money (and you'd be right), but this is peak buying something just to be seen with it.

Almost didn't even get it, because chinaman untrustworthy. But I've noticed that sellers from Asia in general has begun to ghost sellers under the pandemic. Which to be fair, only damages them, because they get bad ratings.

I feel that if someone can make an indistinguishable product from the brand for a 5th the price then fuck the brand. Still, wearing a fake that has the brand logo is tacky because there's still that wannabee aspect of wanting it to pass as the brand, ideally it shouldn't involve any copyrighted symbols but is not like inflated prices that don't correlate with the quality of a product are not gay to begin with, and if brands lower the quality all the more reason not to pay their absurd "authentic logo tax" and just go with alternatives.

Pretty much. I find it funny how many of the tiktoks shared are girls going on about how "imma reader guys look at me, reading is deep , not like other girls" but they might as well be moefags sperging about their waifus since all they ever read is generic YA romance novels.

The irony is that the bowerbird has a good chance of getting sex by his collection. Where as the grown man who's collecting figurines is going to remain a virgin due to his hobby.
 
The group buying knockoffs and then showing them off just bug me. It is a fact that some companies way over charge for their products and pocket the profits instead of paying their workers/designers well, but there's also a bunch that charge that high price because they pay their workers well. It's a big problem in the fashion world with stuff like fast fashion totally skewing peoples view on the whole thing. You'll have people complaining about the price of things being too expensive and not understanding the basics of how much things cost to make, usually then turning to these knock off groups (which are stealing those designs) to buy cheap garbage made of the worst material. Yet, you'll have some of them have the audacity to complain about how "they don't make things like they use to!" when it comes to quality or the ever hypocritical "I care about workers well being unless it means I have to pay more to support that," from the internet socialists.
Also, like the plague that tiktok is they've apparently been making fast fashion even worse by hyper accelerating fashion trends and increasing the buying of cheap garbage that doesn't last:

Pretty much. The videos about fashion were very informative and pointed out why the Strawberry Sparkle dress is so expensive, but really the want to have the dress is just a fad at the moment. As soon as the obsession to own it blows over, those who bought it are left with something that most girls probably won't wear more than once or don't have the body type to pull it off.

Case in point:

By all means, if you love the dress and will wear it on more than one occasion, go for it. But if you simply want it because it's hitting all your autistic buttons and you want to be popular, consider deleting tiktok.

They're all teafags too. You can't just read an ebook at the counter drinking water. It needs to be tea, blankets, a REAL book, and probably some candles too. Bookstores have caught onto this since I noticed the local abomination that is Indigo Chapters has an entire section of garbage like overpriced blankets, "Reading Socks", and candles that smell like cotton assholes. Now that it's autumn in the northern hemisphere they've really ramped it up. This is, after all, Sweater-Tea-Book weather.

Lastly, a cheery article: Ebooks are an Abomination

You can buy nice used copies or soft cover versions for a fraction of most hard cover book prices, they just aren't A S T H E T I C. I personally prefer to buy whatever I'm reading because often I'll have the urge to randomly look up something I read in a book I own(I read a lot of non-fiction), the few fiction books I do buy are typically thing's I'll probably read again in a couple years. Amazon and ebay are godsends when it comes to used books. I wanted to read Cicero's letters to Atticus, and as far as I can tell outside of shitty photocopy versions no one is printing the text at this time. Found a used copy on amazon for like $7 and aside from some yellowing(because it's from the 70's) there's not much wrong with it.

I have absolutely no eye for high fashion, and if I saw that trunk among my grandma's stuff after she croaked and I was cleaning out her house, I would have just chucked whatever in there and probably dented it at some point, just to eventually throw it out, never the wiser that it was worth big bucks.

"Designer", yet they're using Helvetica, the world's most trite font. Congratulations on looking like Target's logo, I guess? And lol at the inconsistent kerning, which ironically makes that logo feel more like a bootleg than anything.

I think in your reply alone you've pointed out that you're not buying books to consoom and put on shelves to flex on all the plebs. And you read Non-fiction. Most of the books I posted are all Young Adult and Romance. Easy to consume and low critical thinking books. They're meant to appeal to you emotionally with pretty covers - and none of them have even a crease on them. There's no books with creased spines, stickers, blackened out barcodes, or even highlighter marks and post-it notes to indicate they bought them used or even utilize them.

Every book these girls have they keep pristine and keep on a shelf in their designated order, meant to look pretty. All the books a moderate reader can polish off in a day or less since they're about as deep as puddle on asphalt and have stunning dialogue such as:

"People really are like houses with vast rooms and tiny windows. And maybe it’s a good thing, the way we never stop surprising each other.”

“I am coming to terms with the fact that loving someone requires a leap of faith, and that a soft landing is never guaranteed.”

“When people don’t express themselves, they die one piece at a time. You’d be shocked at how many adults are really dead inside—walking through their days with no idea who they are, just waiting for a heart attack or cancer or a Mack truck to come along and finish the job. It’s the saddest thing I know."

Like wow, so deep! The world is truly lost without the insight of YA authors!

Just to give some more context. Sia made a austism is magical movie where her little girlfriend plays an autistic kid who learns life through music or whatever. 2 hours of autistic face at the camera while sia music and visuals play. The everything is a problem crowd had a problem because sia didn't get a real autistic person for the role. In sia's defence can you imagine trying to film something with the sound and visuals of a movie studio along with sia's aesthetics. Be a fucking nightmare for everyone involved.

Nope. Constant stream of images of a pretty girl holding a book with a coy look and a quote about how reading makes you cool.
 
actually fuck there used to be a subreddit (yeah I know, fucking kill me) called /r/bookshelves that was filled to the brim with the sort of consoomer wank that we see here. You'd have like 5 books on the bookshelf and the rest was funkopops and anime figures.

There were bookshelves where someone had FOUR (yes, four!) copies of one of the same Harry Potter book and two different Lord of the Rings collections.

Fuck it, I'll go there and see if I can find anything particularly cringe.

Here's a bookshelf where I genuinely cannot tell if it's an 8 year old, a 16 year old or a 32 year old pedos room. The toys say toddler but the way they're laid out says 16 or older.
