I'm not a fan of Matt Damon but I don't think he's wrong here. I think since that LGBT rights have been such a hot topic in the last decade, people tend to forget that sexuality is still considered a very private thing to some people. Not everyone wants to scream how gay they are from the rooftops nor should they. If mean, if they want to then great but no celebrity is entitled to tell the public about that sort of stuff. It's unfortunate that until recently, Hollywood demanded that actors who were gay and wanted to be out about to shut up and stay in the closet but that doesn't mean that every gay actor should do the opposite in order to protest it. Really I think it comes down to the personality of the person. And honestly, I think this goes beyond sexuality in terms of being famous and privacy. I do agree with him in that you should keep your personal and professional life separated as much as possible though.
And is it just me or is The Mary Sue is one of the negative websites in the SJW sphere? I swear, all they do is bitch about how x is "problematic." At least Jezebel and Buzzfeed tend to have articles on stupid shit that can be oddly entertaining at times. I would hate to work at TMS.
