CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (WCMH) – A man was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon after a zebra attacked him in Pickaway County, Ohio.

According to an incident report from the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were sent around 5:30 p.m. to a fenced-in field after reports that a man had his arm dismembered by a zebra he owned.

As deputies arrived, they saw the victim lying on the ground with his right arm covered with his sleeve. According to the incident report, dispatch logs said the victim had his arm bitten off by the zebra.

An edited version of deputies’ body camera footage is below.

While deputies were treating the man, the zebra continued acting irate and charged one deputy’s cruiser, which was positioned to block the man from the animal. The man was accompanied by family members as he was being put in an ambulance since the zebra would not stop being hostile.

Deputies began blowing air horns and yelling at the zebra to scare it away, but it continued to charge toward authorities and the victim’s family members. They told the deputies not to turn their backs on the zebra, since that was when it would attack, and gave them permission to put down the zebra if necessary. A deputy then fatally shot the zebra in the head due to its continued aggressive behavior.

One account from a PCSO deputy in the incident report was that the “zebra was aggressive due to being protective of about five or six female zebras that were in the field.”

After the zebra was killed, the man was taken to Grant Medical Center for his injuries.

Weird to think I may have actually met these people at one point. There were people out in Circleville, well closer to Stoutsville really who had all sorts of exotic shit. I went by one time and they had hyenas running around though I know they'd gotten those taken away. Who knows though, there's so many people breeding crazy shit in Ohio even after feds tried to rope it in after the one dude offered himself and released all his lions and bears into a town.

I guess the train derailment was worse than we imagined considering that there are now radioactive zebras galloping around the Buckeye State.

Excited for the A&N article on the one-armed striped vigilante to start fighting crime in the dead of night with his newfound zebra powers, though. Cleveland won't have a gang problem for long, as their trigger arms are gnawed off by Zebraman. For great justice.

He dindu nuffin he was a good colt getting his life together was going to church and getting settled down with a filly!

Also yeah, equines in general can be pretty dangerous. They are huge and will let you know if they have a issue with you. Zebras are particularly bad because they are way less sociable than horses.

Some people blame the Zebra (in part) for Africa not being able to get civilized in a timely fashion - the Zebra is a mean spirited
beast that has an evolutionary impulse to bite and not let go. Never trust a damn Zebra.

Rest in peace, zebro, what a legend.

SCENE: Flashback to parents at creepy carnival

GYPSY FORTUNE TELLER: Someday your son will have his arm bitten off by a Zebra. In Ohio.
DUDES FATHER: Fucking what?
DUDES MOTHER: What happens to the Zebra?
GYPSY FORTUNE TELLER: I have some bad news for you.

Equines are pretty talented at degloving body parts. I'm assuming that's what happened, since zebras lack the dentition to literally bite off a limb.

Where did this man buy a zebra? How the fuck did he "own" it? Aren't "exotic" (read: wild animals trafficked by retard criminals) pets illegal?

They are apparently legal, and you can sell them with some basic animal registration in the US. They seem to go for 3k on the lower end up to 10k.
