Today, without warning, YouTube banned our video and podcast channels. We had 135,000 video subscribers and close to 20,000 podcast subscribers. YouTube also banned other channels, including that of Stefan Molyneux. This was all no doubt in honor of George Floyd.
During the Iron Curtain era, who would have suspected that 30 years later Americans would be muzzling each other? It’s trite to say this, but shouldn’t people try to debate those with whom they disagree rather than silence them? There is no more graceless way of admitting you have lost the argument than to gag your opponent.

While i essentially agree, it would just be doomed to the very same fate as Null with kiwi farms, they would make sure it would be outright unprofitable to run anything resembling a "free speech" platform, and on that regard platforms like Youtube and Twitter have reportedly never made a dime and have always ran on red numbers, only kept alive by the billions on google vault.
 
Hmm they're moving earlier then I thought. I'd guessed they start the censorship wagon in September but I guess the memo has been sent.

Kind of internesting that that leaker warning there would be a huge coordinated crackdown on monday was right-- so of course it follows naturally that youtube is moving in lockstep with reddit on this.

It's a sad thing to see the internet, a media that used to be rebel and uncentralized, becoming a giant corporate hugbox.
