Got something I've been eyeing for a minute. I do love Christmas, any time of the year. 20240501_010456.jpg

In pretty much the same boat as Knitting is above, I own way too many stuffed animals but don't give them any names unless I think it's funny. I largely collect Beanie Babies and Webkinz for both nostalgia reasons and the fact that they can be found relatively cheaply in secondhand shops (assuming they aren't run by delusional boomers who read random Facebook ad articles for the former).

I have a thing for Squishmallows right now, because the material and stuffing make great pillows for my side/stomach sleeping self. I also have a replica of a recently deceased pet (20 years, RIP buddy). My pet plush is weighted, almost identical in size to his counterpart, and stays on my bed in the exact place his counterpart slept. It’s been a very strange comfort to have the plush there since I lost my pet.

I have one of these in the Cinnamon colours, and it's so soft and comfortable to hug.

Nearly all my plushes were gifts though, so I hold onto them for sentimental reasons, outside of cuteness/huggability. (Is that a word?) A couple of the big ones I have make good pillows when I get headaches.

these two are basically my favorite, but the strawberry is crushed / wont return to the form bc I cuddled / laid on it too much. still very soft though and very cuddle-able if you ignore the fact it's more like strawberry jam now, haha.....
The whale is the best for when I feel anxious and need something close to me. I usually put it in my jacket and cuddle it and it helps me feel nice. It also helps me when I get headaches bc of how soft it is.

I found these cat plushies randomly while out with my fiance at a comic con. They're overpriced blind boxes, so I looked them up and they're by a really autistic Minecraft YouTuber :( They run 9 or 10 GBP a plush in stores.

Having said that though it's become a tradition with us and friends to pick one up every few months for fun if we find a new set. My fiance got me a giant one made of Squishmallow-type material for my birthday and it was far more expensive than it had any right to be, but they are pretty good quality so I don't feel completely scammed.

They're cheaper on Aliexpress.

Oh yeah Aliexpress is fantastic if you have patience and common sense to avoid bootlegs, I use it for Tokidoki stuff. I'm pretty sure the listings are from the factories themselves so I wouldn't doubt if it was the same for these.
Doesn't change the fact that their MSRP is £10.

Lord help me, we just got these in the shop. They're in little dinosaur costumes. They're keychains, so they're pretty small. I'm kind of hoping we find a rip in one so I can take it home for repairs and whoops! It lives on my bed now.
They're gonna fly off the shelves though, my boss doesn't know anything about Sanrio so when I tell him we need more Cinnimoroll, Pochacco, and Pompompurin stuff he's just like "I don't know what the fuck those are but I'll do my best"

Needs more dinosaurs in Sanrio costumes

Any advice on cleaning a stuffed animal by hand? Mine's very fragile and I don't want to risk the washing machine.

Also, has anyone ever found anyone locally that repairs stuffed animals? I found a few services online but I'd have to ship him there and I don't want to risk him getting lost in the mail.

There’s been times when he’s been the only one for me through trauma, abuse, breakups, and whatever else I’ve faced. Autism react me or whatever but he really does keeps me going

Never thought I'd allow myself to get a Jellycat since they are fucking insanely expensive but this weekend ended up getting the huge Bashful Luxe Bunny Azure. I don't regret it, she's so soft and huggable. I find myself just snuggling her all the time now. I know I've heard from everyone how soft they are but I can't stress just how soft she is. Still stupid expensive but I regret nothing. Also, just discovered they have a Mothman one and I might have to make a second purchase some day.

I have a good friend who has a small collection of stuffed bears. They're all named after failed black-run States - Haiti, Dominica (after the Dominican Republic), Liberia, and Congo. Makes me snicker every time I go to her house and see them on their shelf.
