That's a good point, but I have also seen them in action of turning against someone who does compare a favorite manga or whatever of theirs with the real thing, and they are pretty relentless a good 90% of the time.

Yes, this. And it's incredibly creepy how all those articles keep reiterating the point that they haven't molested anyone yet like it's something worth of praise. Yeah, sorry mate, you're not getting a cookie and round of applause for not having raped a kid. That's like the bare minimum it takes to not be a monster.

I also can't help but be a bit wary of those support groups they mentioned. I do think it's good for people with those urges to have a network that helps them not offend but those online groups might just do more harm than good. I'm not saying they're a cover-up for CP or anything - but constantly talking to other pedos, and how hard they have it in life, living in this bubble of people who accept this stuff as just inborn urges...I think it might just end up normalizing it to these people and they'll become even further removed from a society they view as hostile.
