On one hand, Kanye is more famous and influential than most modern day artists excluding a select few.

R. Kelly, Gary Glitter, and music produced by Phil Spector is still available at least on Spotify and they're convicted criminals. There's also alot of indecent, offensive, racist, homophobic and definitely misogynist music available on there as well. Drill rap is literally just death threats in the lyrics.

They had this debate when R Kelly was on trial and whether or not his music should be removed but it is a slippery slope. I think, even though I understand in this particular circumstance because Kanye is more famous than R Kelly why it seems like an option, I would feel more uncomfortable if songs like Gold Digger are removed because Kanye West said he liked Hitler 15 years after its release. You can wholly sing about raping and murdering women for at least half of your career (Eminem) but you cannot at any point be an anti-semite even if the topic was never brought up in the music you made over a decade prior to the public statements? Like you can literally say in your songs I hope faggots die and I'm going to rape a dead bitches body and niggers will hang but if you tell Alex Jones in a conversation that you like Hitler - that's the end.

That would be the worst move by streaming platforms, honestly. I think that would radicalize more people than anyone being able to hear Love Lockdown.

This is slightly off topic but it's interesting to me that the department of justice refers to Jan 6th as a breach (which is what it was a security breach) whereas the hysterical media calls it an insurrection, attack, raid, riot etc etc. Reminds me of how you could instantly tell someone's politics if they referred to the 2020 summer of love as the Floyd protests or Floyd riots.

I don't think Kanye has done or said anything particularly crazy. The dumb things he says get played up because of his popularity otherwise. The banks have absolutely no right to freeze or take his money until he's ordered to pay up by a court. Just fucking imagine how much you could fuck over someone if all it takes for their assets to be frozen is for someone to sue them. How should the accused pay their lawyer? Why the fuck is it the banks job to make sure you can pay compensation before you even have been found guilty. How the fuck should you pay your bills if you get sued and who is gonna pay for the late fees that might cause?
