Preacher (I wish we had a vocative case in this most useless language):For the record any time I've used it was purely as part of the cowboy aesthetic of my account.
The increase in use by faggots has sucked the fun out of a nice western word, and that's a shame.
That said, I don't think we should just cede the word to them so easily.
Explicitly this. my account is a reference to the main character in Pale Rider, a Clint Eastwood western, the profile picture should make that clear enough. Any use of "y'all" was part of that bit which has since been dropped due to a combination of me getting tired of it and the phenomenon being discussed in this thread. Rather than a black school teacher I was imitating a traditional western cowboy aesthetic.you're doing so intentionally for the sake of a style
Nah, I totally get that you're the cowboy persona from a film, you've told me that. And I'm not particularly shitting on you if you've ever used "y'all" in a sentence. I'm speaking to the OP's point. But, never the less, I'm speaking to it by speaking in a direct second person singular to you.Explicitly this. my account is a reference to the main character in Pale Rider, a Clint Eastwood western, the profile picture should make that clear enough. Anyway, because the wild west/cowboy aesthetic is unique to America, and not exclusive to the south as many like to think, I do not consider being a southerner necessary to engage with it. People all over the country should be free to say howdy and wear cowboy hats and cowboy boots if they please, especially the boots since they're really comfortable and not as overt as the hats. That's also why I think its a shame that faggots have tainted "y'all" and why we as a society shouldn't just let them have it.
I think the joke here is merely "what is meaningful communication?"Y'all may be annoying when used by online libs but it has somewhat of an excuse when used by people from the south.
People who use "Yikes" however are 100% the type we can expect them to be. An annoying fucking cunt.
His wife utilizes both "Y'all" and "Folks" a lot as well and I can't unhear it now. It drives me nuts.Yep. Obama did this as a way to make himself, a foreign transplant* with an Ivy League pedigree, seem "folksy" and "southern" (same thing with using the word folks all the time). All shitlibs after him are following the pattern. An elitist shitlib always wants to be seen as the underdog populist.

Niggerspeak is just the apes imitating the slavemasters of the old south.Blacks say y'all all the time dude. Like, all the time.
The infantilization of English online really kicked in around 2008 or so, when you'd start seeing people who should goddamned well have a mature vocabulary start calling things "gross" and saying "yikes" like they were 5 fucking years old.Y'all may be annoying when used by online libs but it has somewhat of an excuse when used by people from the south.

This is the only point worth focusing on. While most of the comments on here have focused on the political meaning behind the current use of the word (and I think it can be distilled down to modern leftwing individuals attempting to channel their sassy, inner-black woman when evoking the word "y'all"), the real point of discussion is the necessity in regular conversation of a second-person plural.second person plurals.
