They've probably had human DNA enmeshed within them, like what happened with the Sectoids and MutonsIf the snakes have tits would they still be reptiles? Cause wouldn't they be mammals cause of mammaries?
Aye. I liked the little changes they made to the XCOM formula and would have been delighted if they brought over the lessons learnt to XCOM3. Story is a legitimate proto-Dispatch though lol.Finished the game in Ironman/Impossible/Hardcore in 2026 after playing through it once back when it released. Honestly, I think my opinion of it improved after giving it a second chance; don't get me wrong, the setting is extremely jarring compared to what EW/WOTC built before (having characters complain about "blood on their jacket" while killing enemies like Chryssalids feels so tone deaf) and I don't really like any of the character's personalities or designs (they all feel like Marvel rejects), with the biggest offenders being the alien characters given how they didn't even bother to at least make their speech more unique to their species, which would've driven the message of "we should all live in harmony!" better instead of just making them act like humans with attitude problems.
Having said all that however, the gameplay itself is actually fun. I personally like how the maps are smaller instead of being pointlessly huge, and the character turn order adds an extra strategical layer to it, plus some of the characters are really fun to play as given their unique toolkit (Shelter being my favourite with how he manipulates the enemy's position/turn order). I also liked not having to stress too much about the Anarchy system with the many options they give you to reduce district unrest, though I'd have prefered it if Anarchy couldn't be reduced because as it is, it feels too easy to keep at 0 for what's a "pressure" timer. I also like how the more you progress in the campaign, the quicker your benched characters get promoted to keep up with your main squad, giving you a reason to swap them around, though some characters feel worthless compared to others (Claymore is consistently broken against all 3 factions, while Verge is useless against Sacred Coil).
Overall it's a fun game to kill time with if you have nothing else to play, though I don't think I'll find myself coming back to it again.
What's wrong with CIV 7? I've been on the fence about getting it, but I haven't really heard much of anything about itInstead we all got Civ VII instead
Civ7 is a shitshow. After you reach certain predetermined development points the game basically says it's moving to the next era, resets you, renames your country, and starts the world back at square one. This is in theory so you don't get scenarios where you have barbarian horseman legions riding around next to hovertanks and shit, but the way it's handled is absurdly ham-fisted.What's wrong with CIV 7? Fuck that shit. I want to burn down the entire world instead of someone else repeatedly pressing the reset button. After you reach certain predetermined development points the game basically says it's moving to the next era, resets you, renames your country, and starts the world back at square one
