I agree, but I'm going to play devil's advocate for the sake of it:None, and if any do they will purchase the Xbox brand from MS to continue on with Xbox, the only company dumb enough to try out of that list is Apple. You got to remember that you can't just make a new console, you have to work out what the specs are going to be and most importantly, what software it runs on. The only company that has the latter established well enough is Apple, and they technically have dived into gaming with the Apple TV, but it's pretty basic and nothing compared to the PS or Xbox. Apple is also making their own proton-like compatibility layer for their ARM processors as well, so it does put them in a better position to enter the gaming market. But Apple seems to be focused right now on making the Mac able to run PC games the way you can run them now on Linux. If they do that successfully, it makes their ARM chips a powerhouse that could definitely see the Apple TV benefit (at least with casual/older titles, BYO controller lol).
Cloud gaming is all the rage despite the fact it keeps failing to really take off, Google knows that all too well, so they will have 0 interest to try again after the fuck up that is Stadia. Amazon makes its money off AWS, so they won't see any financial sense for them to waste R&D on a console when they could make their money back from cloud gaming overnight. Disney sucks at video games, and they would have no chance making feasible hardware, plus they're too focused on making sure Disney+ doesn't tank. Musk would butcher it with some web3 shit, and it would only gain fame with a niche audience and nothing of substance too.
Disney and google i agree would have no interest in the console space. Amazon and apple are a different story.
Apple could buy the whole suite of games from Microsoft, which are 27+ of the world's (former) top studios. Apple could rip the market in twain my making those games exclusive to Apple ecosystem, wouldn't that be something? Compete with Nintendo with a handheld and offer Valve a free Apple version of Steam, complete with games cross-over to their ecosystem. Bye-bye Microsoft PC dominance.
Amazon could do the same, except become a 3rd party developer and launch all of their games 3rd party on all platforms. Do nothing other than keep the wages flowing for the studios. They could take 450 million customers from Microsoft Azure and plop them on AWS over-night, almost ending Azure competition in the market and making AWS the absolute dominant force for hosting/streaming. Every game in the industry running on AWS would more than cover the cost of buying Xbox.
Apple and Amazon would benefit more from buying Xbox and running it as 3rd party, than they would releasing a console. Of course, in the case of Apple, an Apple console with all of those games exclusive to it would be an easier way for those with PC's/no MAC to still play CoD, hosted by AWS.
Make the next Ipad a switch/steam competitor, launch a console, make games exclusive to mac and launch their new VR on said new console and Applefags would carry Apple into the biggest, most dominant force in the industry.
