It’s been said before in this thread, but Microsoft trying to consolidate the likes of two well known companies is just proof that they’re not just trying to be Apple, but they were taking the least popular factions of what made Apple successful, yet offer nothing new to the playbook of it.

Didnt rockstar go thorugh an internal purge and get rid of most of the "bro programmers" its safe to assume the diversity hires are having trouble making the game and are probably going back and changing anything "problematic"

It also does not help that Rockstar also had to buy out a modding group that was used to change PC textures to make more “NEW GTA 6 FOOTAGE! NOT CLICKBAIT!” videos on YT get spread out in the recommendation page. It’s been 10 years, and they’re still trying to make GTA Online “fun”.

It’s been 10 years, and they’re still trying to make GTA Online “fun”.

Once gameplay-related microtransactions are involved in your online game, being "fun" is no longer the goal. The goal becomes making the game miserable for all the players that don't use real money to buy fast cars and virtual insurance for the cars so they'll respawn for a small fee instead of having to buy them for full price all over again.

This is why it will never happen, and good thing too. They would never allow for it to be a remaster/remake faithful to the original. It would HAVE to be "updated" to "be relevant to today". The NPCs would all need to have fully voiced lines, and no topic system like we used to have. They would demand that the leveling of zones is too hard and unforgiving, we have to keep it all leveled to the player. We gotta change the combate completly, can't have the dice rolls in the background at all.

That's reassuring to hear, I have fond memories of playing Morrowind on the original Xbox before I finally got my hands on a gaming computer in the mid aughts for Oblivion's launch. Glad to see it's getting some love, though I could never go back personally even if I had an Xbox.

And jesus christ Pete Hines really didn't know what the fuck he was talking about. Why would you change the dialogue of the game if it's a remaster and not a remake? He's conflating the two as if anyone who wants a Morrowind remaster would actually expect Bethesda to include all 4 of the voice actors they hired for Skyrim to do vocal performances for characters like fucking Fargoth. Nobody expects that lmao

I did testing on Stadia and Luna for work stuff. Stadia could actually push decent looking 4k, but it used mind bending amounts of bandwidth to do so. 75+mbit at times. Anyone who can afford an internet connection that can tank that can also afford a console and go the no compromises route. It makes no sense.

ETA: Also their solution of pushing GPU laden servers down into ISPs for latency is such a goddamn non starter it's rediculous. ISPs already hate googleflixkamai's caching servers because it's the tech companies pushing their electric and cooling bills onto them.

Fallout 3 is borderline unplayable on modern PCs because of the xboxlive shit and other horrible optimizations. I'd welcome it.

Is it really that bad on recent PCs? When I played it years ago, all you had to do was make a tweak in an ini file to allow it to use more cores and you didn't have to sign in to Games for Windows Live to play the game, as it was only used for tracking achievements.
