It is a very Indian thing to do, lying about it and trying to jugaad her way through.

If she was honest about it people would have still been mad but at least it would have been a lot less. She could just have said she isn't much of a gamer but she will prioritize the gamer customer opinion and use her management skills to try and appeal to them. But that would require too much self reflection and honest from a modern industry leader, much less a jeet.

I also wanna say Grummz is being a moron with his point of her being 6 years old when Chrono Trigger came out. That isn't the tell that it is AI. The actual tell is how empty her tweets are and how she ends it with the boilerplate "thanks for reaching out" shit.
 
Unlike many in this thread - I put the blame squarely at Satya's feet. Satya rose to prominence by promoting SAAS solutions and Microsoft's infra-in-a-box stuff. This was a good idea and something that set him apart from Ballmer (who was obsessed with consumer products to the point of releasing things well after the market was completely locked up) but this also set the stage for the rot. The cloud became the overwhelming raison d'etre for everything at the company and Satya did not seem to understand that the reason why people chose Microsoft was because Windows/Office/Xbox being good meant that there was little friction in choosing the Microsoft services to go with them.

Well ten years later and all of those things suck shit now. Home users hate Windows (which has lead to fucking MacOS somehow taking 30% of the desktop market in the US), businesses/users hate Office and small businesses are just as likely to completely forego Microsoft in favor of just having people use gmail/google docs. And Xbox's rot should go without saying.

Satya is not retarded. He's been at Microsoft forever and is one of those old-school "I hate India so much I want to get out of there yesterday" jeets. But his obsession with services has blinded him to the problems with the products and it's very hard to be a company as big as MSFT that can't sell both.

Personally I think Xbox is dead. Asha is a retard do-nothing woman who's been sent in there to damage control while rolling up as much of the operation as possible. Her entire reason for being there is because she'll listen to the directives from above without pushback. This is in stark contrast to the products side (Windows, Office, Surface etc.) where Satya very conspicuously sent a white guy in to fix things. The messaging is clear - Xbox is expendable and Windows is where they're going to focus.

Also apparently a big reason why Satya gave the Xbox side so much leeway was because his son was a huge gamer. However, his son is now dead and so a lot of the personal affection he might have had for the brand is gone (on top of all the money Spencer burned in his race to the bottom with Playstation).

Bethesda will probably be fine. Fallout76 and ESO are stable enough to be money printers, Skyrim rereleases still sell well, and despite all the deserved clowning Starfield got, it sold 4.4 million on Steam and moved a decent amount of gamepass subs. I dunno if they're completely meeting the 30% margin requirements, but they're probably doing well enough that they'll be spared the worst of the stick.

I imagine the first casualty is going to be Double Fine and we're going to see an ebin Timmy meltdown in the near future.

No it wasn't. Microsoft owned the casual market and sales showed that most people owned a wii and either a ps3 or 360. It's partly the reason the gen is called the pswii60 gen, because most people owned at least 2 consoles. And if you bought an xbox you owned at least two of those because of RRoD (and because they were pennies for the power).

Kinect was a blind panic because the gamers had left the building and the suits had taken over. Anyone with half an ounce of brain could see that the Kinect was at best free R+D for camera tech and at worst a complete waste of time.
Not only were the E3's staged, but it couldn't detect black people.

By 2010, as the original poster stated, Microsoft had completely lost its way. When the Durango specs leaked in 2011, nobody would believe they were real because of how retarded they were. They were real and accurate.

To be fair, this achievement can be earned by killing a player who already has the achievement, and most players have already earned it.
 
Not defending the new jeet lead but to provide some additional info.

Don't trust Blind users. Not to PL but I'm in one for one of the large tech companies.
  1. A lot of Blind users are jeets
  2. A lot of Blind users are ex-company people, they create their account while at the company then get fired/laid off (happens to jeets a lot due to incompetence), so now they hold a grudge and doom post. Blind only does initial verification and doesn't require you to re-verify that you're at the company (e.g. by emailing your work email).
  3. Izzat-The Jeet blind users shit talk other jeets from other castes (they don't mention this in their post, but I've personally seen it) and just make shit up
  4. Seriously they just make shit up, some of the dumbest shit I've ever seen, they're like 4chan schizos
  5. Blind users are literal fucking retards who are looking for drama. The amount of times I see them asking about legal shit such as H1B and other vias, and HR policies that they could just look up themselves is insane.
  6. One of the most popular types of posts is "I'm about to vest $25k worth of RSUs in 2 weeks, can I put in my 2 week notice now and that guarantees I get those RSUs?"--absolute fucking retards.
TL;DR don't trust Blind users, they're literal jeet retards about 80% of the time.
 
I would love to have heard the exact reason excuse why (okay, we all know why 🇮🇳) the woman with 0 qualifications (who was responsible for AI before. You know, Copilot.) was just perfect for this job instead of an overdue firing.
Her last gig ( for which she also had no obvious or listed qualifications) surprisingly went so badly that it was arguably the single most rejected major AI product in history.
There are more people who want AI generated furry porn than there are voluntary Copilot users.

This does not even make sense by indian logic since this failure has drained her of all Izzat.

Do not worry mam we are officially certified bethesda game company support." and just ignore her since A) She does not actually care and will forget anyways and B) MS will cycle through the next 2-3 Xbox managers/morticians before they will release anything.
And thats IF the brand even still exists by then.

Xbox Game Studios is very poorly run, but I can't see how this Jeetess can turn things around. The development cycles are out of control. It should be taking 3-4 years to develop most games, not the 6-8 years that seems to be the norm. But without any experience in the industry, she's not going to have any clue what a well run and efficent game studio looks like. Their marketing also seems quite bad. That Double Fine game Keeper looked interesting, but I think many people simply weren't aware of it being released and it peaked at under 200 players on Steam. Doom the Dark Ages and Starfield seemed like they underperformed and there wasn't any huge buzz around them. Like shouldn't Starfield being the latest Bethesda slop RPG made it a huge system seller? I can see Asha has some marketing experience, but effectively marketing to gamers seems like a pretty niche and again nothing she is vaguely equipped for.

Still, they never should have let Don Mattrick anywhere near the Xbox brand. Mind you I wouldn't call it blind panic but more that they saw a multitude of people using the 360 for Netflix and such and tried to lean into it thinking that was who the core audience was now (remember Xbox Entertainment Studios and OneGuide?) and equally with the Wii being geared towards that casual audience (and with how well it sold) might as well try to tap into it.
