I've looked up a few people in great jobs for the 'fun' of it, and I swear either they just don't add their first 5 jobs or they immediately nepobaby into something halfway up the ladder to CEO. Usually they're rather old, so it'd sort of make sense that they exit university with a degree and experience and immediately become a something-or-other officer, but knowing the job market, nah dog.

At this point the sheer notion of getting a job based on your degree is crazy, but to also use university to get a job 2-3 steps above entry level? I just don't get it anymore. I went to a workshop for half a yea with people who had degrees and no job experience. Half of them randomly got well-paying jobs with worse material than mine, and I genuinely believe it's because they're eye candy blondes who can sit in a blazer, pretending to be worth their wage doing social media under the title 'Engagement consultant'.

Digital designer is -the- meme 2-year degree here. Everyone wants it, nobody transforms it into a job, yet I see women who fit this bill exactly still get jobs, and you just know it's through (daddy's) 'network'.
 
There's something really funny about how Phil Spencer fucked up so badly that his protege Sarah Bond was basically fired as well.

He accomplished literally nothing for 10 years but kept his job because retards thought wearing a HEXEN t-shirt was cool. He oversaw the Halo Infinite shitshow, he oversaw literally every major Xbox game being delayed or shit, he was partly responsible for the Activision overspend which forced Microsoft to start monitoring the accounts closer and might legitimately end in the Xbox brand closing down because of him.

Like it’s funny how the general reaction is “Oh man, someone from the AI department is taking over, they clearly won’t know what they’re doing and kill the Xbox brand” when Phil Spencer was literally doing that but with a smug, reddit soyface. If anything, someone with balls coming in and going “You have to finish this by the third quarter or your entire department is out of a job” might actually see half the fucking developers under the microsoft banner actually do some fucking work.

Nah, the Kinect was necessary to compete with the Wii and draw in the much larger casual market.

The real downward spiral started with Game Pass and the acquisition of countless game studios to make content for it.

Agree in spirit with this, but the dates are wrong. Original 2010 Kinect launch was a predictable effort to combat the Wii dominance of household interactive play. It made sense to try to compete in that market, but it should have been shelved after it was clear they couldn't compete.

Instead, Xbox went all-in on Kinect with the Xbox One launch in 2013: "Xbox One Will Never Come Without Kinect"

That was a sign of the end of times. A lack of focus on what mattered. Companies that try to guide and direct their customers against their preferences are doomed to fail.

Microsoft has never focused on what mattered when it came to gaming. They thought they could run Halo simply by pumping money into it after the Bungie team split. But 343 killed the IP, despite the money. Microsoft wanted to be above "gaming" and game development and instead wanted to re-imagine consumer behavior with their forced Xbox One-Kinect play. But, just like public schools in the U.S., you can't just throw money at a failing system and expect it to work better. You have to get down and dirty and fix the broken parts of game development -- the antithesis of everything Microsoft was signaling about trying to re-imagine the gaming console (devs started trying to re-imagine the gamer demographic).
 
What's insane is that a 10 year old child who was an Xbox fanboy could have prevented half the dogshit decisions Microsoft made over the past 10 years.
  • They could have stopped porting Minecraft to new consoles, essentially locking it as an Xbox exclusive.
  • Buying Bethesda wasn't a bad decision, but they could have stopped porting Bethesda games to new consoles.
  • They should never have even considered porting any of their Microsoft first parties to other consoles.
  • They could have avoided buying ABK because there wasn't really anyone else in the bidding for them and they were in freefall, even waiting another year would have probably shaved half the price off it and made it more digestible to get the sale approved if it was literally that or dying.
  • Studios should have been given strict deadlines and had dev leads fired and entire teams disbanded if they didn't hit their targets. The Halo Infinite situation was crazy, I had fucking Monster Energy cans with Halo Infinite DLC before they quickly announced it was getting delayed for another YEAR.
So in a situation like that, you've got the Series X launching around the same time as the PS5 but with two of the biggest games of all time (Minecraft and Skyrim) locked exclusively to the Xbox and a host of games coming (whether they're good or not it doesn't matter, because they ARE releasing or the team is getting shut down). Microsoft is clearly in front from day one and that momentum could have seen them crush this generation, especially with Sony delivering a similarly lacklustre lineup of games this generation.

Bro, Microsoft showed its limp dick for the world to see with the MCC launch. It is dead internet now and I can't find it with casual search terms, but it took something like 200 days for MCC to even be playable as a multiplayer platform online.

I remember huffing copium on twitch back then when streamers were getting illegal advanced copies prior to launch and everyone was like "it is just broken because it hasn't officially launched". Nah that game was outsourced garbage that couldn't work for shit.

Microsoft made its legacy holding no one to account and delivering the worst-quality garbage imaginable. Basically a how-to-for-dummies on ruining a legacy IP.
 
So word on the street is that Asha was basically plucked out of the AI division to lead xbox because Microsoft's AI push is going so well and isn't currently a hot pile of garbage with useless AI chatbots that can't do anything right bolted onto office and windows.

Satya wants unrealistic targets and doesn't provide the resources to do it, leaders at Microsoft mismanage major efforts and things end up failing and everyone except them gets the blame, because king jeet is perfect and his lackeys can do no wrong.

Basically. Xbox is fucking dead. It already wasn't doing well because of how Microsoft is currently run and the people that are running the company will stop at nothing to enshittify products to chase the next big thing (AI in this case), but Satya just turned Xbox into the designated shitting street. Maybe CwC had a point.

At the end of the day, one out of touch corporate exec got replaced with another out of touch corporate exec. The downfall of Xbox will continue and nobody but Microsoft will be shocked when it fully crashes.

This really came out of left field despite Xbox clearly not doing well. I'm surprised Sarah Bond is out of Microsoft entirely, it feels like it was obvious that she was Phil's successor. Was there really nobody else at Microsoft better suited for the job than someone who has zero experience in any gaming related field and clearly knows nothing about gaming?

Phil was a hack, no doubt about it, but this Indian cunt will be ten times worse.

Watch as the whole XBox division and every developer they own gets inundated with infinity jeets, destroying the last shreds of talent and productivity and driving out whatever talent was still sticking around.

What's worse, they don't just hire any random pajeet, they only hire pajeets of the same caste and from the same town/city/region as them.

Microsoft has so many jeets under their employ that parts of the company are being carved out by various jeet factions that now actively sabotage each other and refuse to hire anyone that isn't their kind of Indian.

Everyone needs to educate themselves on jeets and develop a genocidal hatred for them.
