Right, but I'm sort of surprised that he'd even spend that much. Like, his roster went from 200 to 239 this year. $500 apiece seems implausible even for him. Even if that was just really bad luck and your average pull only sets you back like $250, we're still talking ten grand. It seems high.

Not that I'm saying his rampant homosexuality has limits, mind you. Just that he theoretically shouldn't still be spending at the frantic rate that got him to top-tier.
Well, you heard it from the man himself. Even with the vest streak over, the posiTIPity just doesn't stop because he has so many fans who GENUINLY enjoy his content. No need to slow down the spending you know.

Phil's brain needs to be studied, even though he'd claim results are due to bugged science mechanics.
His creditors must love it.

So he potentially spent another $10k-$20k on this game just this year? At what point do you think to yourself "Why am I doing this? What am I gaining from spending money on this?" He knows the end of all this is the game dying and all that money just vanished. It's mind-boggling.

I once got pissed off at a mobile game, I kept failing the level and running out of health.

I spent $1.99 on 24 hours of unlimited health. I felt instantly stupid and uninstalled the app, they got me.

Phil must hate himself and know what he is doing is dumb. He must live in fear that his wife may one day find out about his addiction. She's lived through bankruptcy with him, many new wives wouldn't... But I don't think she would stay if she knew the bankruptcy is because Phil spent $50k+ on a wrestling game.

They couldn't have holidays or days off because of this. They didn't have a real wedding because of this. She didn't even have family at the wedding because of this... It's insane.

And all that money is about to disappear because of the new game. Phil has two choices:
1. Ditch this game now and get into the new game early when spending on pulls will probably put him further ahead for the games life cycle
2. Keep pulling on the current game until all the players move on to new games

It's gonna be option 2, which is the option he has taken for every major decision of his career. Phil only changes long after his lack of change has fundamentally damaged his life and erased any potential benefit that the change could have originally had.

Fixed that for you, and my money is on "both". If you look at how he has handled new fighting game releases through at least 2016, he has always done two things:
1 - remind everyone about his 2004 EVO 4th place finish.
2 - play as much as he can as early as he can to rank up before other players can learn the meta

His top-tier position in Champions is the closest thing to bragging rights he's gotten since that EVO tourney, and he's too eager to flex to NOT get into the successor game. He's going to play both until either the Champions servers shut down or the playerbase is practically dead.

Somewhat related: Is there a normal lifespan for these kinds of games? WWE Immortals lasted just over four years (2015-2019) while it looks like SuperCard is still supported after launching in 2014. Phil's going to be livid when the servers are shut down especially if there isn't some kind of "legacy board" with his ranking on it.

Phil's inevitable disappointment with his expenditure on WWE Champions like any of his other vanity projects is certain. The only real question is how long can Khet and his parents ignore his financial state and at what breaking point will his new batch of whales bail on him when he becomes a toxic wreck for it.

off topic but i think you can get a few IAP's free from a software called lucky patcher, don't know how good it is though.

Don't attach any meaning to those numbers, it was just complete guessing on my part. I don't really know what percentage of his spending goes to pulls as opposed to whatever else you spend money on in Champions.

Just like the vest streak, these games last only as long as idiots continue to hit the minimum amount the company wants.

Ironically, the thing that ends up killing mobile games is all the whales. After a while, the only ones left actively playing are the people who spent boatloads of money. New players can't compete against the whales and quit the game. No new players want to drop the kind of cash that whales have spent years dumping into the game. Eventually the cash flow dips below the required amount and the company announces the servers will get shut down. Then you get wonderful sperg outside of, "I SPENT $100K ON THIS GAME AND THEY ARE JUST GOING TO KILL IT! HOW DARE YOU!"

But since WWE Champions continues to have weekly events and new content and whatnot, I don't see them going away anytime soon.

I bought a bundle of Hearthstone card packs for $30, realized that I could get everything I'd want out of the game without dropping money out of it, then contemplated drowning myself in my nearby toilet. The cards I got weren't even good or interesting. I felt like I dunked my own head in pie.
I totally get buying DLC for a favorite game of yours, or really anything concrete where you know what to expect.
But paying for a CHANCE at something nice? Fuck man, at least buy some cigars and head out to Vegas for the real thing.
In other news, I've recently noticed that penguinz0 and Egoraptor both heavily invest in buying Magic: The Gathering card packs. What is it with washed up gaming hacks and gambling addictions?

If this asswad has had multiple ear infections over the course of a year, he's either totally filthy (yep), or has some other medical issue that needs diagnosis (likely yep, too).
Ear infections can be painfull and reoccuring. i would guess he doesnt take his antibiotics the moment he feels better. he should visit a doctor....

Why would you think he would just stop taking the antibiotics as soon as he felt better? Is it because the doctor tells you to keep taking the medication until it runs out, and Phil admitted that he had some of his old medication left over?

To follow that, TJ Light did the math and is figuring that Phil has potentially dropped $1k on this current event.

I perhaps spoke too soon when I said in the other thread that Phil's current worry about not hitting the tips goal must speak to some new addiction. If this is true, it explains why he is so concerned about not hitting the goal - he has already sunk almost a week's worth of tips into this, and needs more money to ensure he gets the new wrestler.
Get help, Phil.

Doesn't Phil need to get rank 50 or higher to get the character from this event, is that right?

He gets 49,500 points per hundred dollar loot box. I don't know what 50th place is at, but he probably needs to spend at least $200 to $300 more just to get near there. . .on top of the $1K he's already spent, and he will need to spend hundreds and hundreds more than that just to stay in the top 50 :O

That's why he's "nervous" about money this month, and still constantly begging and lying as best he can, despite receiving thousands upon thousands in the last few weeks. There are things he knows his money should go towards, but he also knows he is going to spend whatever it takes to get this character and feed his addiction.

It's why he's flipping out at someone giving him $100 and screaming at them, "IS THAT REAL?!? Because I NEED TO SPEND THAT MONEY RIGHT NOW! YOU HAVE TO E-MAIL ME NOW!!!! OR I'M SENDING IT BACK! Don't FUCK with my addiction right now! Contact me NOW so we can talk behind-the-scenes, I don't need someone fucking with me like this you ASSHOLE!"
