I don't know shit about Death Note, so I'll take your word for it.

Admittedly it wouldn't work NOW, but months ago, when the evidence hadn't piled up to such an extent? Before he kept getting kicked from guilds? Yeah, it could have, especially if it was random as hell, because we wouldn't expect Phil to be that clever, we would expect him to operate on a schedule like the stubborn autist he is.
Wtf go watch death note.

Phil's only "smart" about certain things because we keep discussing them and he keeps reading the thread. He was fully aware what he could have done to stop all this happening he's just lazy to implement those things

I noticed. He clearly wasn't surprised when Road Warriors appeared in his chat, and is aware that our estimate is $40k, not $140k like he previously claimed, but that's low effort. The only things he has put energy into are bitching about it on stream and trying to hide by getting Scopely to change his name.

BTW, who else but Phil would be able to convince them to do that, even with being one of their big whales? A troll would be taking the risk of them asking for corroborating evidence, which they wouldn't have, at least not the way Phil would. I wonder if he actually revealed who he is to the Scopely employee who obliged him...

It's like in Death Note how L figured out Kira was a college student based on the schedule of the killings corresponding with a college student's schedule, so Kira immediately started scheduling killings every hour to throw off L. Even though L would realize that this happened the moment he pointed it out to Light.
My favourite was the episode where Kira changed his avatar to a Canadian flag to throw L off

Remember when Phil played World of Warcraft? Trolls found him and started messing with him.

What did he do? He immediately changed his name. The trolls found him again. He changed his name again.

Then he started hopping worlds to try and lose the trolls. It didn't work.

Strangely similar to the tactics NotDSP used to try and escape the WWE Champions trolls.

Regardless of all the evidence that has surfaced about DSPs WWE Underwear Pixel Men $40k spending, his fans will still give him money and lick his pig feet. DSP will NEVER admit to the WWE spending and will take it to his grave. Honestly, at this point, this topic has, unfortunately, become uninteresting to me. Unless DSP admits on camera that is his account and say "Yeah it is my account like the money you gave me is my money and I can do whatever I want with it so deal with it". Then I feel like anything else is about this is pointless. Don't get me wrong all the people who got this information are stellar people and I give them huge props for finding this info, but it has and probably will go nowhere. I will be lurking on here once and while to see if anything new pops up but I doubt anything interesting as I stated will happen.

He’s a sociopath, he’s never going to admit to something that incriminating. Closest comparison to DSP personality-wise would be Donald Trump. Do you think Trump would ever publically admit to attempting to suppress votes? Also as far as finding it boring and putting it on the backburner, that’s exactly what he wants. It just so happens his fan base forgets things way faster than we do.

Man, this is turning into something like Watergate, where the cover up was worse than the crime.
Closer to the truth than you realize. He could easily admit to it. Paypigs simply do not care. I wonder how long it's going to be before he catches on to how hard he's got them simped. I honestly believe he could only stream for a few hours a day and still make as much.

The coverup is purely pointless now. We know all Phil's moderators are aware he is guilty, some of whom are huge paypigs themselves. None of them have cared. His other main paypigs are highly unlikely to care.

This is pretty spot on. Phil isn't covering it up to try and save face with his fans. The loyal paypigs either accepted it as truth and just say something like Phil is allowed to spend his money/it isn't their business, or they just don't care in the first place. The reason Phil is bitterly denying it is because he doesn't want to admit that the detractors were correct about it. If we never uncovered it, I don't think he would have ever outright admitted to having the account/how much he spent, but I think he'd probably drop a few more hints about it, like complaining about the game or casually mentioning he was playing it, like he did with that other wrestling game.

I've talked about this before, but anyone hoping he will admit to this is extremely optimistic. It will never be worth his while to admit that it was him. That said, he may in 5 years broadly refer to this as 'inappropriate spending' or something equally stupid (assuming he is alive). There's absolutely no way his current mods are not aware, and I suspect he deliberately culled some that he didn't totally trust with this (Pops, Kekon), and brought back one who had an opportunity to rat on him and did not (Swagginz). To admit to it, there would need to be some tangible gain, and protection from any fallout.

The problem with the fallout is that this is not just him lying to his fans. He does that on the daily, very obviously, and they don't care. It's that this one crosses a few really problematic lines:
1 - Twitch has a distinct rule against feigning distress for money, and has come down on him for even using the term 'fundraising' inappropriately. If Phil admits to this, it could actually result in a ban as it would be confirming that he has feigned distress for paying bills and taxes for years, while recklessly spending on an addiction. I think that would actually tip him over the line in terms of profit/liability.
2 - This confirms bankruptcy fraud. I've said before, I doubt there would be legal action, but this would become a massive meme that he would not be able to run from. There is no way that he could have got the bankruptcy if this were true and properly disclosed, so he would be an actual criminal.
3 - It would completely validate detractor digging. With how hard Phil stands on the Escort Saga as definitive proof that detractors concoct conspiracies, if he actually admitted to something on this scale, even if he didn't lose paypigs, people would know that the Farms is a better source for Phil's reality than Phil. He can't afford to take this kind of L, but he also really can't afford to give detractors a W this big.
4 - Phil, this one is for you buddy. He's a massive bitch who will run from this not just because it's an embarrassing and hypocritical addiction, or because it shows that he is a mewling baby that had to lie to a trustee and pray she believed him, but because it's the truth. And if there is one thing Phil Burnell cannot abide, it is the honest truth.

One final note, if he addresses this, there will also be the question of if it has stopped. And we all know the answer to that is 'no'. And with the money he expects to make monthly in the era of the vest streak and IcedCoffee, I guarantee you his already whaling in other mobile games. Not admitting to it means that when we find another whale account, he can just continue to deny.

The holy grail of this saga isn't going to be the admission. It's the saga itself. This solved the riddle of Phil's money problems for at least the last 5 years. They are his fault, he is a scammer, he is severely retarded, we have the receipts to back that up, and even if Phil won't admit it, he knows we know this. Plus Nigel fucked up his $40k 'investment'.

IMO this is the main thing that chafes Phil the most. Being an complete egomaniac he can't stand the fact that a website managed to basically expose his rampant, frivolous and egregious spending; Spending, in my honest opinion, that has ramped up even more with the "vest streak". I can see our village idiot attempt to spin this into something else for pity bucks. But for now we can count on Phil to do what he does best....deny everything.

If he did the whole saga would become a lot less interesting. Like watergate it's not really about the crime. It's watching him scheme and lie his way thru the coverup.

THIS I expect Phil to think and care about, because his priorities are fucked. Always have been. He wouldn't be where he is if they weren't. But the other potential consequences? Debatable whether or not he has even thought of them.

I still find it funny there are people waiting for "conformation" of something that can only be confirmed if a pathological liar decides to stop lying, never gonna happen folks. I feel sad for all the people who didn't enjoy the WWE Champions arc because of their skepticism, it's the most entertaining thing that's happened with Phil lately.

I did once think it possible that he might snap and let it slip, but Phil has to be feeling very stressed to do something like that (which may not be enough either), and I foolishly didn't see it coming that he was going to rig the vest streak so he could feel comfortable and smug for a good long time. But I also wasn't disappointed, because the arc is indeed interesting without a confession. Though admittedly a lot of that is from sweet deranged Nigel getting Phil kicked out of every guild he joined, so credit very much goes to him for that.

Ironically, if Phil really wanted to hurt the detractors he could just admit to what everyone knows is true, come up with some stupid cover for it (gambling addition, depression, stress relief from the anxiety of bankruptcy and now he's getting financial guidance or something) and completely survive it unscathed. It wouldn't impact his income at all - if anything on the day he came clean he'd probably get heaps of tips from both supporters and detractors.

So he'd prove he's bulletproof, as well as taking away the main thing the detractors have. but he'd need balls to do it, so there's no chance of it happening.

Even if he did some clean, the king of suffering card doesn’t really work well. Hell, even his depression card didn’t work well the first time.
