Remember the 341 hearing when the other cases had people who, apparently unwisely, bought things like yachts?

What makes Phil a loser is the fact that his explanation for being bankrupt wasn't even mentioned at that hearing, and never would've been, because it's not an asset. It's a black hole that sucks up all of his money, and doesn't even make him happy in return. It was never worth it to even start playing, and he's going to be hooked until the day he dies.
I'd rather be a divorced and disowned piece of shit who foolishly bought a yacht this one time than a fat man playing games I hate for disabled wheelchairs.

Leaving aside the mountain of what is better. You can't copypaste yachts 1000000x over for an infinitesimal fraction of a penny. There isn't a virtually unlimited variety and supply of free drugs available to download off the internet and more you can have custom formulated for you for a tiny fraction of the price. I'm really having a hard time thinking of anything more pathetic to be addicted to than sweaty wrestler jpg pulls. Even the paypigs of thots at least get some good scenery.
Look, I am not saying that I personally think pixelated beefcake inside of a predatory Bejeweled game is a good use of money. I am saying that a lot of people have hobbies that are money sinks and as long as the person is happy and stable it's dumb to judge them solely on whether or not their hobby is a good investment. It's not like they are spending your money.

Unless it's Phil and you live in the US, in which case he is spending your money by siphoning tardbux and getting bailouts from Uncle Sam...

I still can't believe this guy put the flag of Canada in his guild as some ploy to mislead the tractors. lmfao

How is it dumb to say it's obviously a bad "investment?" It obviously is that. It may be a "hobby" whatever that means, although most "hobbies" do not completely destroy your life like a crack addiction, force you to commit bankruptcy fraud, and then you continue gambling for five star jpgs with stolen money.

That's such terrible behavior, bad for everyone around you, you yourself, and the world, that I feel fairly confident in just saying it's objectively bad.

I wonder what his strategy is with being in a faction all alone? Biding his time, hoping we forget perhaps?
My first thought is that Phil changed to the Canadian flag to represent he's dead like Owen Hart with his DownFromTheRafters name. Of course, it could just be Phil doing his King of Suffering narcissism.

I didn't say it was dumb to say WWE Champions is a bad investment. I said it's dumb to judge people's hobbies solely on the basis of whether or not the hobby IS a bad investment.

The general point I tried to make was that constantly using financial min/maxing to dunk on a hobby is misguided because the point of lesiure isn't to make money. If I like watching money burn and I have enough to light a bunch of it on fire all the time, why shouldn't I? I never said Phil shouldn't be mocked for his habit, I said the reason y'all choose to use as the basis of mocking him is weird. I think it's weird to act like one of the primary reasons Phil's WrestleMania is pathetic is that it's not a good investment because by itself that's not a very good reason and there are so many other, funnier reasons to dunk on Phil. Hobbies don't automatically become shitty because they don't boost your bank balance.

And if you're going to keep arguing the point, then exactly how many billable hours do you think you've pissed away on the Farms? If you are even mildly skilled you've probably passed up more hours you could have billed and resultant money than Phil has burned through on Gacha. Why aren't you out there earning and building investments? Is it because not every second of your day must be spent generating and preserving money in order for that time to be worth it for you? If so, we agree and y'all can stop conflating Phil being an idiot with people having unprofitable hobbies and move on from the fairly straightforward point I tried to make as a side comment.

Phil spent tens of thousands of dollars on soft core gay pornography JPEGS on a mobile bejeweled clone.

That's pretty gay, that's why I am judging him.

The perceived value of his hobby is not what's in question. The extent to which he has hidden such an addiction, is willing to hide such an addiction to the point that he's willing to throw everyone and anyone under the bus is what's appalling to a lot of people.

When a hobby starts having a negative impact on your life, this "who cares if it makes him happy" mantra doesn't hold validity. We've left the realm of balance and rationality. We're dealing with a full-blown addiction and he should be called out for it given the extent he's willing to go to keep feeding said addiction. If this was happening to anyone else but the pig, I'd feel bad. But given that it's happening to DSP, I'll quietly sit, watch, and laugh as this situation unfolds.

This is an absolutely awful place to argue that, we routinely judge people's "hobbies" entirely on our own opinions. It's fucking pure retardation to expect us not to laugh at Phil's stupidity. Why exactly are you white knighting him? He's a lolcow.

I think you are missing my point but it's not really an important point.

I get trying to argue that entertainment is a very fickle thing to put a value judgement on. That said, something in the line of a predatory mobile game is just providing basic bitch dopamine responses preying on his nostalgia for his sweaty bois but giving him only that, it's not like there is anything valuable about their product outside of it. These kinds of shit mobile games will be BTFO the second profits start to dip and Scopely will find another market.

The funniest thing about Phil’s Champions situation is how ashamed he is of it. Imagine pulling up to your friend’s house and seeing a new boat hooked up behind his truck. As you walk up to the front door to knock, you see fishing poles, a cooler, and other items waiting to be loaded up. You mention how nice his boat is and he begins vehemently refusing it’s his. He claims to hate fishing and that he hasn’t been in three years or so. You see a fishing license sitting on the coffee table as your friend screams it’s not his. But before he pushes you outside and slams the door in your face, he asks to borrow money because he says he can’t pay his bills. You later see your friends name in the leaderboard of a amateur fishing tournament, but he claims it’s obviously someone else.

Ah, at least a boat and fishing gear is something real and tangible, plus fishing gets you out on the lake. Phil’s has spent 40k+ on absolutely nothing of any real value. Ack ack ack you mentally ill detractors.

This is the best way of putting it. Its the denial. The idea that he pleads poor and keeps adding to his WWE account all while saying it isn't real. Its shameful and dishonest. I mean its Phil, but like Jesus Christ own up to it.

We probably have all made stupid purchases, either we eat crow when we over extend and ask for help or we eat ramen and learn a lesson.

To a certain extent, I actually agree with this. Although I'd still argue that when the hobby results in you spending over 40k over the course of a few years, especially when you have/had a bunch of other debt and other serious things to spend the money on, you're making a bad decision. Whether that hobby is online gaming or buying cars or whatever else.

The reason I don't think it's a valid argument for Phil is, I don't think it actually makes happy. I'm not sure what you mean by stable either in this context, but I'm willing to argue Phil is in no way shape or form stable. He's ranted about the mobile game trap before, and we've seen some of his old guild chats where he was complaining about how much of a money sink the game is. I'm sure Phil gets some very select moments of joy from it when he's chasing that high of getting a rare pull and finally gets it, but that's really not how you should be treating your hobbies.

To use the yacht example you mentioned before, if the person who bought it is constantly taking it out on trips or hosting parties or whatever, they're getting a lot of enjoyment out of it. It would cross into dumb territory if the person who bought it constantly complained about how much they hate the water or they chronically get seasick or something.

I think the reason people tend to refer to Phil's mobile gaming as an addiction as opposed to a hobby is partially based on how little enjoyment Phil gets from the game. It doesn't seem like he really cares about the gameplay. For Phil, the big thing is getting respect/winning. He just wants to see his name at the top of the scoreboard (or at least in the 4th place slot). That's when he gets his happiness hit. But, it doesn't last, and ultimately there's a new event that requires burning even more money just to possibly end up getting a spot on the scoreboard.

$40,000 could have fixed his tax issue and some of his credit cards. He may not have had to file for bankruptcy had he not whaled out on some dumb fucking game. I hope that eats at him more than anything else when this game dies and he realizes he could have unfucked a lot of shit had he not wasted his money on this.

I think he already knows how fucked it is that he's dropping this much money into this shit gem game. It's why he is so sensitive to the mere mention of it. He won't even say the name of it, lol. As mentioned a few posts previously, it is a great shame of his. He jeopardized everything for the stupidest fucking addiction there is.

I have more respect for heroin addicts than I do wwe champions addicts.
