Yeah, I like how it changed from, "some troll using my name" to, "probably some random fan who used my Twitter handle" or better yet, "this poor guy just happens to have my Twitter handle." Also this guy could have done any number of things to prove its not him, but this mysterious fan/stranger has that stalwart courage and morality like DSP. He won't bow to the trolls for anything.
 
According to the rules, you are unable to change your username.

In order for the TheyCallMeDSP user (who is totally not Phil) to get Scopely to let him change his name, he had to spend a considerable amount of time exchanging emails. Spending time talking to people high enough in the company that they could make executive rule breaking decisions.

Couldn't TheyCallMeDSP (who is not Phil but has the same discord ID) have just proven he isn't Phil and saved themselves and Scopely a lot of trouble? "Yeah, guys. I chose the name as a joke and I'm really Joe Schmoe from Hoboken, New Jersey. Here is a selfie with applicable info to prove it's me. I also posted a confirmation on my Facebook. Please stop harassing me."

Wouldn't Scopely tell them to just debunk the theory that they are really Philip Burnell? "Sorry, TheyCallMeDSP, if you chose a username that may be controversial, it's on you to disprove those rumors. Our terms of service do not allow name changes. Thank you for playing and please consider buying one of our $300 lootboxes."

Or was it impossible to prove they aren't Phil because they are Phil and Scopely wants to keep an open wallet and went out on a limb to protect him? "Sorry that you experienced harassment, Mr. Burnell. We will make an exception and allow this one time name change. Please be smarter when choosing your username in the future."

It's one of the most smoking guns tbh, pun intended. Phil has to lie on both ends simultaneously, but uses the exact same method which doesn't make any sense. Tbf when I look at the riots in the US nothing makes any sense, so something is wrong with your water and logic isn't a good indicator of anything, dear Americans. But I digress.

Let's say you have a lot of chill fun with your guild and game and there is no sight of it ever ending. You want to keep going with the guys who masturbate to your spending habits. They're like best friends you never had, but oily wrestlers bring us all together, really heartwarming.
Now there are those random people who threaten your chill time by interfering with your favorite hobby, making allegations which aren't true, obviously. They state and harass you because they think you're someone else.
Now any person who's not DSP would just provide a single good proof it's not him, outside of "Uuuh, no, debunked!" and go on with their day. Take of photo of yours or better go in a discord call (would be the fastest and easiest debunk). You have a whole loving mod squad who could help you with other ideas. Problem solved, keep on gaming.

But he just had to maneuver his career in typical DSP fashion into the ground, losing all and every connection he built up over the years, including his position in a big guild. How does this make any sense, Phil? It's the equivalent of being accused of criminal activity, asking for evidence of innocence which is located in the wardrobe and you're very aware of, but instead of showing this existing fact to the court, you do everything in your power to look even more suspicious and exactly like the culprit.

I'm already looking forward to the next retcon boomer segment in which I predict he will go all in with the "that was my depression!" angle. He seems to rotate between different reasons based on what's currently coming to mind.
And as @Surly Muppet already pointed out, this would fall in-line with how it can never be Phil's fault directly, he can only fall victim to it. Remember, he is a fallible human after all. As opposed to all the Greek gods in his chat.

For the sake of argument, assume that it's not Phil, and is the result of a series of coincidences whose odds are only marginally below the correct sequence of events to lead from the creation of the universe to this specific instant in time. Phil would react exactly the same way: make pretend-sad sympathy noises while refusing to expend even the smallest effort to help someone else.

Exactly. Phil rarely shows empathy for anyone unless he can get something out of it, dead or alive, real or fake. What a perfect opportunity to humanize himself for some random mobile game player that is totally not him, even though he's doing nothing to help this person when he has the ability to do so.

He rarely shows any signs of caring for randoms, especially online. Could easily help this TotallyNotHim person by practically showing your actual account NAME and nothing else. But then again, if he even has the app still on his phone, it's not a good look regardless. And that it is just him so it's funny he's practically talking in 3rd person.

For me, the thing that 100% confirmed it was Phil was TheyCallMeDSP's initial reaction to people accusing him of being Darksydephil.
He didn't respond with, "Oh I can see how you'd make that mistake", "Huh, that's kinda funny actually!", or even "Ew, gross, I have nothing to do with that fat Twitch Streamer".
Instead, he had the least human retort possible, absolutely nothing you'd expect from the average person.
What we got was the snide, condescending deflection of "Fucking idiots think I'm DSP, the streamer. I'm not." Who does that sound like, hm?
Phil's inability to laugh at himself is ultimately his greatest flaw. If he just responded with "lol I want nothing to do with that Streamer," like any normal person, people probably would have left him alone, at least to a greater extent. But no, he just instantly lashed out at people who disagreed with him without thinking of the consequences, just like always. And now that he got burned he wants to play the victim yet again.
 
I haven't seen a post here explicitly saying "TheGunShow84 might get ANOTHER name change" and Phil probably hasn't either, so he must be thinking that's what we're least expecting right now and trying hard to get scopely to change it again.
 
TheyCallMeDSP/TheGunShow84 wasn't the only person to leave Road Warriorz. The Leader JoeRedd7 as well as about 9-10 top rankings guild members all left within a days notice. I suspect they went and started their own open wallet guild with DSP. ZomboDroid 01062020142942.jpg
