there was an update that went live at 1000hrs DSP's time and it he pulled a brand new wrestler straight away, his stream was turned on at approx 1025hrs

what confused me is the app doesn't show he was online, the wrestler couldn't have been pulled when he was last online due to the update not even being released, and his wrestler total count hasn't gone up

I’m not sure what event this is you’re mentioning(a release of a new character?) since I don’t play anymore but pulling a 2 star wrestler could be from anything, not just an event or unveiling a new character. Those generally are focused around 4 star releases, and the gacha pulls do have many other wrestlers of various quality from 1 star, 2 star, 3 star and even other 4 star ones. But that pull could have been from anything not necessarily an event. When I stopped playing they had just released 4 star wrestlers so it was all about 3 star releases before then.

Are you in his guild or are you just looking at his guild from public view? I don’t know how reliable that view actually is, but him pulling a new character doesn’t have to coincide around a specific event starting.

Yeah those are the PVE events where you fight against the computer to get whatever special event tokens for that event using tickets(also gacha for tickets)

Don’t worry, even games like this where you have to pay to win, he is still dependent on his winning personality. You need to be in top performing factions to get the best loot for these events, and you get in those you have to not just do well in events while maintaining a big roster, you have to get along with people. There are many dead whale accounts in the game because of factions falling apart or people getting kicked out of factions for not participating enough or scoring high enough. Plus he has to not piss anyone off in discord. Looks like he’s already taken a step back from the game due to underperformance. His $40-$80k investment will be a dead account within a year.

I think the most amazing thing to take from all this is Phil's relationship with his Discord guild.
The fact that he hasn't mentioned his Twitch stream (which he has touted as a successful product that exists because of his talent) or his YouTube "legacy" is mind-blowing considering what I once knew about him. Judging by how often he brings it up, you'd think it would be another thing he holds over other people's heads, like his wife.
So why wouldn't he bring up the fact that he's a Twitch streamer to his guild? If they're his friends, wouldn't he want them there, have a few laughs as he casually plays a variety of silly games?
The way I see it, the only reason he'd keep his Twitch stream a secret is because he's too embarrassed to show his pals. Imagine that, Darksydephil being ashamed of his own khantent. That level of self-awareness was already considered beyond him, but what specifically would he not want them to see? The begging? Is he aware of the immorality of his own constant guilt-tripping of his audience?
Ah, his audience. His beloved audience, yet from his Discord chats he is clearly far more comfortable chatting and showing things to his guildmates.
So, even if this doesn't result in "The Death of Phil", it's still solid, solid evidence that Phil has nothing but contempt for his own stream and his viewers, just something that needs to be regularly wrung like a wet towel. That, despite Phil holding himself as a voice for game critique, at the end of the day his favorite game is a Bejeweled clone.
All those games he's insulted over the years, and it's this one that captivates him. What a joke.

The drunk suspicion initially came about because Phil was extremely slow and mopey at the start of the stream, heavily slurring some words, unable to process basic mechanics in the game, and locked in a droopy scowl. All more than usual.
After about 45 min, some money rolled in and Phil appeared to have sobered a little, so clown mode was briefly unlocked.
But then the remainder of the stream devolved into screaming lunacy, as if Phil were trying to spout some sort of anti-detractor manifesto that made no sense.
He definitely didn't start that stream with much DSPositivity.

We all know Phil will do anything for that validation but I didn’t know it was to this degree. Recently I tried playing Peggle again because I used to play it on my iPod as a kid... but of course it was pay to play. That’s the case for most mobile games today. I wondered... who the fuck keeps giving these people money... and yeah, this confirmed it; stupid fucks like DSP.

I think there's a good chance some of them are regular viewers, and Phil told everyone to hush. Phil has been known in the WWE mobile game community for 5+ years, he obnoxiously posted on their forums like a celebrity. I can't buy that nobody in the 30 person faction knew who TheyCallMeDSP is.

I played this game for about a month, around a year ago. I refused to spend any money on it ad got bored really quick.

There was another game, WWE Universe, that I played for a little bit longer, maybe three months. I only spent money on it once, and that was by signing up for a Postmates account and placing an order so I could get a large bundle of in-game currency. Plus, I got a pizza out of it.

I stopped playing the game after I realized I'd have to play for several hours a day, every day, in order to maintain a high rank without spending money. On top of that, the events required you to have ridiculously overpowered characters in order to finish them and unlock the premium character. Totally not worth my time.
