Kat's income was listed on the bankruptcy. If she really insisted in putting her head in the sand during all that, then she deserves to be used and abused.

Khat is a moron, and more importantly… As someone pointed out: Her entire
life has been spent mooching and couch surfing. That means she has little knowledge about basic things like property tax, rent and bills etc. She probably doesn’t understand the tax implications of being DSPs wife etc.

And she’s also an addict and an NPC at this point. Khat is unlikely to have ambitions or dreams at this point, and no perspective.

As long as she’s has doordash sushi, mayonnaise to dip it in and her Skyrim, she waddles around in the snortfort content and happy. Blissfully unaware of things like “paying off the house”, “saving up for a cruise/remodel the house/kids” etc.

Now of the point ever came when there isn’t enough money for Khat to throw 50$ worth of food down her gullet five times a week, sure. There would be problems. But we’re not there yet. Give Phil a year or two with his yearly 20% income drop. ;)

They're married and it was a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. You HAVE to declare your spouses income, even if you're filing for it independently.
 
I don't doubt DSP had to ask/get information from Khet, but I don't think Khet understood the whole process. I mean, I'm not sure if Phil really understood it either for that matter. I'm confident Phil either lied or spun it to actually be a positive thing and made it sound like he was playing 5d chess and Khet was too busy smearing sour cream over her toast to understand.

Pretty sure it was around that time that Khat decided to gain 300 lb and become an unfuckable blob out of spite.

Khat probably didn’t understand bankruptcy in detailed terms, but she knew it was BAD. And she knew that DSP, when he was still wooing her to come, never gave the impression that he was anything but loaded.
 
Kat won't even spend time with Phil now, how often on "phils day off, the best stories on YouTube!" has phil said he watched Kat play video games.

They get one day together and she would rather play Skyrim than spend time with Phil doing stuff... This is not healthy relationship stuff.

She has no friends outside of their house and Phil probably lies to her about finances. She knows Phil lies about finances, but has just resigned herself to this sad pathetic life where Phil would rather spend $1500 on WWE champions events than go on a vaccation, have some days off with her or plan for retirement...

Wouldn’t Khat get the house?

It’s not like there’s a lot of equity in it, but if she sells, I’m pretty sure she’ll at least be able to afford moving costs plus deposit and a year of rent for a new place.

Maybe she will even be able to afford to buy a house, as long as it’s a one bedroom in the cheapest part of Wyoming or Idaho or Kansas or something.

If she’s smart, she’ll declare bankruptcy and THEN sell the house, even though it can’t be worth that much, given how run down it has become.

Even real estate isn’t safe from Phil’s goutosphere of failure. We saw what being in Phils vicinity did to Khat, so imagine the house!

Goddamn, what WILL khat do when he croaks? Wouldn’t be surprised if she just sits and huffs up sushi and plays Skyrim until the sheriff comes to kick her out.

There is absolutely no way she doesn't know about this addiction.
And if they really would be in a "loving and happy marriage" like Dave always claims, she would at least try to help him somehow.
