Your first estimate you got wrong because the update to the game that added VIP levels 7 through 13 didn't happen until like March 2018, so instead of dividing by 46 months you should have divided by 22 months.

Currently the absolute bottom barrel, most conservative estimate for how much Phil has spent on this game is like $90K. Taking into account TJ's event spending tracking coupled with the bank leaks it's very likely that it's more like $110K for the conservative estimate.

Phil probably spends somewhere between close to $2K to $3.5K on this game every month. Yes, it's that insane.
Edit: If you want aa fast shorthand to figure it just take how many years it's been since March 2018 and multiply that by $20K and you will always be slightly below the conservative estimate until something drastic changes. So it's July 2022 so take 4.333 years × $20K = $86,660.

Thanks. I've updated the post to take into account that the VIP 8-13 sprint mentioned in the reddit post took place over 22 months rather than from the beginning of launch. VIP 7-8 was added around the same time and not covered by the chart but seems to be a small amount. Of course I'm no authority in wrassling candy crush so with more insider information we can improve the estimate even further.

Total Spending

assuming a floor of 39K at time of reveal, might be an underestimate due to not taking into account whaling before (small extrapolating from the chart if he was simply going after levels but this is phil so who knows) and after VIP8-13 sprint before the news broke.
VIP chart: $92181
bank leaks: $121260

assuming consistent spending from the beginning at either VIP chart or bank leaks level. Note VIP doesn't factor in money he possibly continued to whale if he reached VIP 13 before the reveal 22 months later.
VIP chart: $134727
VIP spending rate before reveal, bank leaks spending after: $163805
bank leaks $208392

Holy shit. I can only say "get help moron" That money alone would have prevented the bankruptcy. And please remember this is only WWEC. We know he played other gacha games and he confirmed he actually wasted money on them. But not on Hearthstone the one game he streamed.

Same here, just a split second but close enough to make a well timed screenshot. But I tried other profiles on the leaderboard and still same result of vanishing.
Can you post the link to his profile? Just because information isn’t being displayed on your browser doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

This really looks like they're in the final stages of milking these morons. Six stars? Lmao.
Lots of gacha has an end of life. Final Fantasy Record Keeper is ending service in October after 7 years. They have “end of service sales”. Champions probably has another 2 years left before it ends.

Also, how accurate are those stats?

He's been playing since feb 2017 and, according to the site, has played over 21k matches, out of which nearly 2k, about 9% of his ENTIRE history, are in the past 30 days?

Did he get into the game even more hardcore recently? Could this be a sign that he's trying as hard as possible to free-to-play things by spending more time instead of more money?

Is the site bugged? Is my shitty ESL reading comprehension bugged?
From what we can tell Phil's roster is accurate but the entry for "all time battles" really means all battles in the last 12 months (+ or -) so a typical month would be 100% / 12 months ~= 8.3%. 9% is a bit high but not enough to point to Phil doing something weird or the site acting up. So yes some of the stats are dead wrong because the site or game is bugged and no he hasn't gotten into the game more hardcore recently. Based on the bank leaks and the value of his account when it was discovered his monthly spending jumped post-begruptcy but has been inconsistent - some months he spends $2k, other months he spends $4k, there isn't much of a consistent trend.

The code here is either a disaster or the architect is a genius who disguised quality code as a disaster. I can't make anything of it. Maybe someone with more "inspect element" experience than me can siphon some data from it.

Had a little look through it myself but not knowing too much, very little in fact, there's not much I can do with this either. Not really sure what information would even be there that we don't already know though.

I mean someone just posted a massive dump of endpoints a page ago that can’t be quoted but couldn’t we just cut out the middleman and make API calls to nab that data without having to look at the buggy website itself?

Hahahahaha

Of course Phil is going to need to upgrade every one of his Hogans to 6 stars, and that's going to cost even more money to pull all the materials needed to upgrade them, correct?

I wonder what the next begging emergency to cover this is going to be. Roof leak?

This must sting extra hard after having some streams that didn't make him enough money for his big adult day off, too.

Edit: I do wonder if something like this could ever make Phil take a step back and realize he's been flushing his money away all this time, all it takes is one update like this for Scopely to power creep everyone back down and force them to spend more. How are people like Phil too dense to realize this? Why continue to throw your money into a black hole that you can never discuss publically?

I was reading a discussion among game developers. Mobile is truly the black sheep of the industry so utterly dominated by a tidal wave of trashy exploitative freemiums people who actually want to make a decent game cannot get a foot in. One of the root causes is people like Phil would rather whale hundreds of thousands on a 'free' jpeg slot machine that pay two bucks for a title with heart. Combined with other things like how people like phil lead to the dumbing down of mainstream console titles I just find it hilarious how he epitomizes everything wrong with the modern consumer and what ruins gaming in so many varied and often unexpected ways on multiple levels.
