These people are to Phil what he is to the average Champions player and he also lacks the restraint to skip a few two events to pay to place first in one.
God I never thought about that. Like the one time I indulged in Gacha, for $20, it was to focus on getting one thing done. I don't even remember what. But I think it got Ramza his best sword so I was like, ah shit, we should do this, pump up guys. And then I got shit, and was done with gacha.
That's all a myth for public consumption though, because the truth is much uglier.
"A white trash empties out his daughter's college fund and mortgages the double-wide for the hot new mobile game - who wins? The developer!"

Actual multimillionaire whales are almost nonexistent, though there have been a few documented cases.
I would hazard its something a little more in the middle. Someone like my Dad. 40 hour white collar job, makes enough each pay check to just funnel a grand in every so often and while he feels it, he never has to stop. I think the dox show a lot of that too. I mean its eating away the college funds, and the savings. But, thats how no one ever knows. He never has to have a late payment, or borrow money.

Can't believe I forgot about this, finally had some time to check it out. There's yet another coincidence between DSP and Rafters that involves obscure lore, it would be either impossible or very difficult to know by someone else other than DSP unless they take a wild guess. (I know it doesn't matter at this point, but yet again let's share)

Some time ago I made a post about Rafters and his MOTU toy, it's back here if you want to read it fully.
It shows him mentioning having the Scare Glow character when he was younger, this thing is popular now as a vintage collectable but back then it was a semi normal figurine for kids (although this one glowed in the dark while the others in the same line didn't, so it was a bit more special). I don't have a chart of how demanded it was in the 80's / 90's amongst teens in the US, but it should be rare enough to create this coincidence.

DSP recently confirmed having this toy as well, and even though it's known that he likes Masters of the Universe it would take some risk to claim you also have the item when you're trying to impersonate him, if you didn't know about this fact.
This is DSP's video (that I missed until now) >>> timestamp >>> 52:33):
"the glowing skeleton figure, if I'm remembering correctly ok? I think I had it. I think what it was, it actually had the body of like He-man, but they recast the plastic to be like transparent, so it kinda look like white, transparent white, but what they did is they like sketched a skeleton on to it if I'm remembering correctly?
And it had the head of a skeleton but it wasn't... the thing that threw me off about this thing, it was a skeleton with a buff body and the head of a skeleton, but it wasn't Skeletor. I thought- if I remember correctly when I got it I thought it was Skeletor, I thought it was like another version of Skeletor, but it wasn't it was something else. [description of the toy]"

So did anyone know about this toy prior to that ask the king episode? Maybe Prince Lotor, Sparkletor or ReentryPhantom because you know old lore, but I can't find anything specific to Scareglow in DSP's videos.

I don't recall. Also, what time would it be in Renton if it was 20:50 for you? This was June 16th 2020, which was a Tuesday. Just trying to see if it matches up with anything

If I'm not making a mistake I think the time should be adjusted for his own one, so it should have been during his day off. He tweeted shortly after the end of that conversation from what I see in what I have here.

There are more instances when Rafters' posts align with DSP's tweets but I mean, that has been common knowledge for years at this point.

Oh this is good. I mean we already had it established that Phil can't escape his own personality (and probably doesn't even realize how easy it is to spot, despite years of detracting giving him plenty of reason to), but this is still really good, because that's quite a bit more specific, and shows more than any of his little pig-tics just how much he doesn't pay attention.

Also possibly an indication of how relaxed he is playing this game, even after it being found and impacted by us mentally-ill nudniks. We really are dealing with the most incompetent person possible.

No you troll........he just set you up by claiming to have that toy after seeing the impostor claimed to have it. Just like the poll the other day. DEBUNKED! :story:

A relaxed pig is always his worst enemy.

Doxed by a not at all homoerotic toy. Is there a more quentisential Phil catching himself in his own web of lies moment this decade? I doubt it. So again, this is why he can still totally win lolcow of the year 2022 without getting his orbital bone shattered.

I think Chantal is winning with her "fake" breakup and shaving her head while abusing drugs

anyways NWO Wolfpac Lex Luger comes out today so may explain if he's more butthurt today

Don't think Phil had ever mentioned it before.

I did find this interesting item: "Scare Glow was one of the last figures released in the original toyline. As fewer figures were selling by this late stage, less were produced, making it rarer as a result. The last version issued with the glow-in-the-dark halberd is the most rare and hard to find version of this figure." link

Scare Glow being a hard to find figure makes it even more rare that these could be two separate people.

How are games like these even a thing. What does the mind of a person, who spends so much money on any game, look like? I couldn't do it, out of sheer principle alone, because these games are scams.
Hobby dev here with some insight into this.

The talk about wealthy people who don't care and people with serious addictions and mental health issues only covers the top few percent of whales - But a lot of the top whales, and a huge percentage of the whales in general, consistently fall into an interesting pattern. They're not gambling addicts, and they're not rich. Rather, they are overwhelmingly "Failures to Launch". These people generally have some careers or skills, but are either stuck in dead ends, stuck in entry level, or derive no pleasure or satisfaction from their work. Think generic middle manager type stuff, but overseeing a team nobody gives a shit about. They tend to have no real financial obligations or future, no family, few to no friends, no hobbies or passions, etc. They are the stereotypical failure bugman sitting on his couch in his apartment with no thoughts going through his head. They don't have relationships, they don't have any goals to save for to the future, they're just going through the motions.

These people eventually find these sort of games, and if they start spending, something happens that has quite likely never really happened in their lives before. They're succeeding. They don't really care about the money or the fun-value comparison to other things, because that doesn't matter. Suddenly they're seeing success, they're getting things. They're likely experiencing their first social outreach in years, with clans always hunting around for whales to buff their ranks (Seriously, social mechanics in whale hunting games are overwhelmingly designed to encourage and drive this behavior). Their clan mates actually seem to care about and be interested in them, and often overlook awful social flaws and awkwardness because they're pulling everyone else up the boards in events.

These people tend to hang around until one of a few things happens. Sometimes, a failure to launch actually goes off. They manage to start dating, or their career shifts and there's actually something for them to work towards. Sometimes clanmates introduce whales to other hobbies, and they stop whaling to pursue those instead. Or, they whale too hard, and financially crash themselves out of it. They're aware of the money they're spending the whole time, but they push forward until they break. Not out of gambling addiction, they're not chasing a shiny for the thrill, or obsession with the thing in question. They're chasing the validation others give them for having the numbers.

Gacha's aren't special in having these people latch to them though - Failures to Launch tend to glue themselves to the very first thing that gives them that satisfaction, which is where you'll see the weird guy who's still obsessed with Yugioh or something in his thirties. Gaming in general has a LOT of them due to the whole dopamine factory design. Gacha is just uniquely positioned to allow failures with even less skill that call of duty casuals to excel as long as they'll pay.

They use the idea that the faction isn’t a job or a grind it’s a “breeding ground” for everyone to do great. In the end it’s just a number to increase next to a profile for monies

Hello again. It’s that time

Phil broke the 2m mark at 2081800. My score is at 1069560 so I’ll minus his score by mine. I did all the free points you can get and spent a coin

1012240/7500 per loot coin / 40 loot coins per 100 dollars you get 337 dollars spent minimum

She is so hooked that she wanted wi-fi access for her cell phone during the 2019 trip to Connecticut to get married and only got locked out because Phil messed up the purchase, bought two wi-fi passes for himself, and could not transfer one from his account to hers. At least to me it is hard to believe that a low/no spending player would shell out for airplane wi-fi and some kind of mobile game seems much more likely to me than other explanations for why she'd be so insistent on getting wi-fi for that trip.
When was it said that he arranged internet for her? I remember him saying he got internet for the both of them for the flight but it only worked on his phone because he's a moron and didn't set it up properly. I could be wrong, but I don't remember it ever being implied it was for Kat.
