I wonder if he's actually so delusional he thinks of his WWECHAMPIONS spending as a bill that he "had" to pay?
I'm more interested in how he can manage to so accurately nail how much money he's going to need ahead of time. Really demonstrates that Phil hasn't been ignorant of the extent of his spending in some time, if he ever even was to begin with. He's WAY too familiar with what a night of Champions will likely cost him, for me to believe that he's delusional about the total figure.

Also goes to show just how much his begging is dictated by this garbage game, because you'll notice that no matter how much he rakes in, the usual daily begging for tips isn't enough to cover it. He has to add onto the regular daily guilt-tripping with infrequent making shit up to squeeze extra money out of the retards. Says a lot about not only his ridiculous spending, but about how retard psychology works.

It's not anywhere near this complicated or well thought out. DSP comes up with some large but obtainable number of around a grand, begs hard to see how much of it he can acquire, then blows the lot of it on the game regardless of how much or little he receives.

Agreed. It works the other way too, like it did this week. He'll spend $600 or $800 or whatever on Champions, then when some "troll" points out that he's begging, he'll say he spent $1000 on bills/tax lawyer/taxes/shower repair/vet bills/doctor bills/whatever and that's why he's broke. It's always the same pattern but with different excuses.

It works like this.
1. Beg for $1000
2. Buy $300 worth of pulls till you get the new Hogan
3. Pull another Seven Hundred God Damned Dollars' worth anyway because you can

If that's how it goes, it sure does explain a lot about Phil managed to waste such a gargantuan amount of money on a fucking mobile game of all things.

What's even crazier is that his regret is getting caught doing it, not the act itself. I would love to know, once and for all, if the ease in which he has always come into money, is truly what that lack of caring is predicated on. Because if it's just his stupidity, oh boy...

Apparently that santa Hogan was OP, specially for a free character. Free at very low level.

That's why they made him impossible to upgrade unless you spend money or wait an eternity for his tokens.

It must be the main reason why he doesn't appear to have maxed him out.

@TJGamebox It makes me laugh so much the number of times Phil will start REE'ing about some crazy 'bill' he just had to pay and then you will post how much he spent on a recent event and low and behold it's the same amount as the mysterious 'bill'.

I wonder if he's actually so delusional he thinks of his WWECHAMPIONS spending as a bill that he "had" to pay?
It's that small feeling of doing a jigsaw puzzle and finding the right piece fitting perfectly when you see this type of connection.

Last update, before contest ended he reached 7.42m

739 dollars this event with cheap coin or 719 with expensive coin

So In the end about 1200 dollars spent this week

How is it this dude NEVER wins any of these contests? Are people really out spending him by that much?
An addict's spending habbits can escalate a lot over time if the problem is never addressed, it wouldn't surprise me if there were people who play on the app with far worse gacha addiction syndrome compared to Phil, which I guess when you see how much he spends on events sometimes, might be hard to believe. With how much money things like this make, their profits come from big whales, not small fry, that's how their business model operates.

Would be interesting actually to see which reoccurring usernames pop up ahead of Phil in events, and you could sort of do some guess work to see how much they spend to get in the top spots. The only thing that's stopping Phil really is the tip money, if he's not reaching the third goal, the pattern that usually follows is he'll trail behind a lot and hovers around the 50-20 spot range. When he's had an overly pahsative week, he will end up at least in the top 10.

Yup, regardless of the game you get into the top tier of gacha spending the absolute top players/spenders will outspend the runners-up by three or even four figures to make sure they don't fall behind. These people are to Phil what he is to the average Champions player and he also lacks the restraint to skip a few two events to pay to place first in one.

To give you an idea of who the real target demo is for gacha, there was a marketing video posted upthread where the spokesman opened with "an oil sheikh and a Wall Street investment banker are playing the hot new mobile game - who wins? the developer!".

This is why I find it impossible to be 100% dismissive of the idea that Phil's lack of real financial struggle at any point in his life has nothing to do with his idiotic lifestyle. I don't doubt that he would be stupid, wasteful, lazy, unappreciative, and selfish, because he was clearly born that way, but the intensity of those traits, the degree to which they get out of control, we have reason to see them being affected by stimuli. He CAN be frightened into backing off. He doesn't truly learn from it, he's just as insensitive and immature now as he was way back when, but as we've seen from the nail-biting, Phil can be forced to at least hold back on what he wants to do. He hates that he can't call anyone the n-word, but he's clearly afraid enough of anyone knowing otherwise. His recent slip and the aftermath prove that.

I know he would still play shit like this, but if he knew real struggle, he probably wouldn't whale out enough to rack up a likely six figure waste over the years. Make a wish on a star that takes away the ridiculous income he has enjoyed for years, and Phil's waste definitely takes a commensurate hit. It's just a matter of how he reacts to that happening TODAY, and if, in the event his income dips enough that he has more to worry about than a lack of Champions, he'll at least hold back on being a scummy begging entitled asshole, or just keep being that out of spite and a complete lack of regard for his own welfare.

That's all a myth for public consumption though, because the truth is much uglier.
"A white trash empties out his daughter's college fund and mortgages the double-wide for the hot new mobile game - who wins? The developer!"

Actual multimillionaire whales are almost nonexistent, though there have been a few documented cases.

Bait accounts.
I'm inclined to believe this too. There's gotta be a system where the mid to high-tier whales have bot accounts placed ahead of them who's just "slightly ahead" to continuously bait them into spending more to reach the higher spot on the leaderboards.

How are games like these even a thing. What does the mind of a person, who spends so much money on any game, look like? I couldn't do it, out of sheer principle alone, because these games are scams.

I totally forgot about this but you are probably right: Somebody in this subforum looked at the some of the other very high ranked players and their data made no sense - the combination of points, level, and account age just did not add up - and the conclusion was that it was either a bot or a dummy account Scopely was using to test game features. Considering how buggy the game is I'm inclined to suspect "bot".
