Just like Phil here. Is he really this retarded? I just can't understand how it can be Phil. He knows we know. He's declared bankruptcy. He has a chance to actually save money. How can he... I...
You know how he'll do something that doesn't work, like try to use a shotgun as a sniper rifle, or fail to jump over a barrel in Black Mesa, and then instead of trying something else, he'll complain and blame the game and keep doing the same thing over and over again and failing?

He plays life that way too.

My theory is that he's so desperate not to give us trolls a "win" that he is still playing because giving up would mean we "beat" him. In a parallel world where someone else like Kat or his parents intervened, he might have cut back or stopped. But because shitposters are laughing at him for it, he must. not. ever. stop.

It's absurd and petty but then again he wouldn't be a lolcow if he had common sense.

Well he'd be right. You hear that Phil? Since I know you're reading this. The day you shave off a single penny from your average monthly gatcha splurge is the day I pop the cork on my dom perignon. We made you do something. You are our bitch. This is your thing, you built up this account from the bottom up with your blood sweat and treasure and you are here still at it despite all the barbs and obstacles thrown your way. Only a loser would let a few nasty trolls drive him away from this. You aren't a loser are you?

You know what? I think you are going abandon this account and stop building it one day. You won't stay or build the account even faster as a fu to the trolls like a REAL man would. You'll say to yourself you got tired or the game or the trolls but its because you are a coward. We'll drive you off. You'll turn and run from Champions with your tail between your legs one day. Because of US. We own you.

I think it's far more simple - he can't stop because he's addicted. I'm sure he never checks his bank statements, and buying virtual currency is far easier than shovelling notes into a slot machine, so likely vastly underestimates the amount of money he's put into it. Besides, it doesn't matter because he'll get $100 on the next stream to make up for it...........

Jesus. Have you guys watched "The Big Short"? That movie about the 2008 financial crisis.

I feel like that character played by Christian Bale whenever I come read this thread. For those who don't know/recall it, he played a fund manager who bet on the financial crisis eventually happening, but he was always frustrated by the fact that the banks kept the farse going instead of admitting that there was no way the whole subprime mortgage thing was anything other than garbage. And it just kept getting worse, and worse, and worse.

Too bad we aren't making money on this shit

The best irony in this saga revolves around the concept that neghole pozzing is frowned upon here, do it, brag about it, and watch how fast you get moderated for being autistic enough to try it. (Speaking metaphorically, not instructing some autist to do just that, obviously, so don't smash that report button just yet...) This however, is one level removed from neghole pozzing, it's orbiting the goutosphere despite all Phil's denials on this topic to the contrary but not interacting with the pigroach outright. Due to that, there's no reason I could look down on someone who likes to laugh at Phil and also enjoys this shitty game at even a base level, so by them doing the latter and it upsetting DSP because it draws attention to his big lie, we all get to do the former together. That's why this remains the superior saga and the chargeback shit is just a loser desperate for a just as big of a loser's attention any way they can draw it to them and rightfully gets mocked all around as a giant autistic shitpile. Ethics in gacha, essentially, who knew such a thing was even possible?

Which begs the question: do you think we'll ever get a "Phil uses being an addict as a reason to be seen as a victim and beg for money" Arc?

I'd say that would be very Phil-esque, taking something that is actually a reason for his fans to stop supporting him, and trying to distort it in a way that can convince them that they actually should support him even more.

In this case, no. Every other kind of thing he's done behind his supporters' backs for sure as he's done in the past, but not this. It's too tied into his bankruptcy to admit on his own. At least that's what I think.

Here's the latest version of some bullshit

You can see his roster talent continue to rise in the same manner as his total wrestler count. Still not appreciably more battles than before, but more faction tokens spent.

I wish I knew but I still don't have a handle on how the game works beyond the basics. With Scopely's documentation and the community guides put together it's obvious the various systems and currencies are designed to be as confusing as possible.

My hope posting these are that other people can help draw conclusions.

Call me dumb but what does this means? He spends less time but spends more money in the game?
You dummy, look at the lines. Some go "whoooop!" And others go "bewwwww!"

Use them to spin a sad story about how Phil needs money to make it go up or down moar!

So speaking in a broad sense, Phils addiction to sweaty J-Pegs is making him late to ''work'' now

This man needs an intervention. But he has no friends, his parents are dying and his son cant speak English. Hopefully Khet can have a word when the potatoes run out

This appears to be what is going on. TJGamebox on Twitter independently confirmed that his match rewards, called "Versus Coins", are very low for someone with his roster and overall score. This makes it seem pretty likely that the tracking website was correct and the weird dip in matches is real.

Combined with those plots it looks like he was probably spending consistently these last few weeks but his gameplay is only just starting to creep back up. It's hard to separate out competing effects of events and guilds booting him for reasons but the recent increase makes it seem like the last few weeks were an anomaly and not the new normal.

That's right folks Phil is more interest in paying to win than actually playing the game!

TJ is tracking Phil's activity tonight.

DownFromTheRafters apparently accessed and then closed the app exactly in line with Phil rage quitting a match and checking his phone on stream. I believe that would suggest that he had the app sleeping on his phone as the last active app and it loaded as soon as he unlocked it.
So if there was any doubt this is him, that's done. No troll could pull this off without psychic powers to predict that Phil would check his phone at that exact moment.
