He specifically mentions the $40k allegation ... but doesn't actually say that he didn't do it.
He could do like he did for Jasper. "They really have no idea what they're talking about, and to tell you the truth... I hit VIP 13 months ago. MONTHS ago! By now I've probably spent 55 or 60 grand."

I just want to link this post here from the main thread for posterity, as Phil is addressing Champions.

There are a few things worth noting in these posts...
1. He specifically mentions the $40k allegation. This is rare, maybe even the first time he has referred to this number alone. Notice that he says we're crazy for thinking this, but doesn't actually say that he didn't do it. This is the same semantic trick he used for the bankruptcy - "I didn't say I didn't file for bankruptcy, I said they were talking nonsense!"
I just want to add on to this, because I think it's interesting.
Phil always referred to the meme as "140k", hasn't he? When he was first being accused of it by his chat, that's the semantic he used to smokescreen everything, even though his chat was yelling at him that this notion was wrong.
A minor point, but notice how he's now acknowledging it as 40k, but ONLY when he's off-stream. He can't admit that he was wrong about his earlier notion. We know it was an attempt at obfuscation, but this is the closest we're getting to Phil admitting that it was. So does this mean we're not insane? Or we still are?

He did indeed do that, though I don't put much stock in it meaning anything that he goes back on it now, because he reads this place and therefore knows that $40k is our minimum estimate. I'm sure he's also seen that I in particular think that it's closer to actually being $140k than he would ever want to face.

Never forget that Phil never admits to even HIMSELF anything that's painful to acknowledge. There's no fucking way he wants to even consider the possibility that he has wasted six figures on a mobile game.

He started to say the 40k number, after he finally admitted to reading the board (Hi Phil), like you guys said that won't be said live by Phil. I say add another 20k at least and you the true amount. As for the 140k that was probably close to the amount into these mobile Gacha games over the years.

The $140k was another attempt to use pignosis to distract the wheelchairs and obfuscate the truth.

When the WWE Champions speculation started, someone tipped him asking about the $40k. Phil starts on a detractor rant about making shit up when someone in chat said something to the effect of "the detractors say it is $140k" and he immediately latched on to that to set up a strawman that the detractors are luda.

But he did say it the other day. Someone in a troll cheer brought it up. And he said "I didn't spend $40,000. I spent $400,000 DOLLARS!"

I like how he is taking a different tactic with addressing WWE Champions on his streams that parallels him seemingly giving up in the mobile game and staying in his shitty one man faction, a hands up white flag hoping that people forget about it so he can either go back to it or he's on to another mobile game.

He's onto a few other mobile games, no doubt. I'm sure now he finally learned his lesson on opsec, but any game he started playing before this thread will surely be under the same name. If there's a newer WWE game you can bet he's there under RichHandsomeMusclesGenius

He hasn't moved on so much as he's spending more time with whatever additional games he has had going for awhile. Doesn't really have a choice, thanks to sweet deranged Nigel.

BTW, since Phil knows who has ruined his game, I imagine he really wants to go after Nigel, but can't because anything he does, if he fucks it up, that's just more evidence of his guilt. That has to burn him up inside.

I love the idea that he's "ripping pissed" at Nigel. He said he read the thread, so he likely saw that it was one guy doxing and pressuring his guilds. I bet he cut a wrestling promo to himself right in front of the computer. Insert "You have no power here" meme.

If Phil called his WWE Champions spendings a business expense in his bankruptcy, does that mean he’s claiming it as business expense on his taxes?

I don’t recall ever seeing that discussed here. That would have some serious fucking consequences.

Barring uncle Sam coming calling for it, and seeing as how Phil isn't exactly the biggest income in the world.... Phil probably is able to claim so much more every year and get away with it because his overall income isn't THAT big of a deal. If there were an extra comma and a couple extra zeros on his yearly intake, they'd probably look closer.

Should he go year after year with no tax liability, claiming everything under the sun, and getting some sort of refund, he might actually come under fire. Beyond that, if he is abiding by whatever alleged payment plan he has, they couldn't care less. The IRS likes getting money. They need tho that money, they really do. To pay their bills?

The IRS is basically the DSP of America.

i'd say it's a mixture of both personal and business expenses

noone is spending $100 a month on fucking cat food, and jasper isn't 500lbs

jasper's recent visit to the vet revealed he's severely dehydrated and dave admitted to never feeding him wetfood

a 10lb bag of cat biscuits is around $30, so he's trying to say his cat eats an average of 1lbs of cat biscuits a day

I wouldn't be surprised if he was claiming the WWE Champions spending as a business expense.

Unfortunately, I think Phil will get away with it as it would involve someone in the IRS to

a) Give a care

and

b) Actually learn something about Phil's business.

The odds of that happening is as likely as a meteor crashing through Phil's window.

I think it was the fact he was claiming he had no money to pay his bills and had to declare bankruptcy AND was using fake business expenses to do so that made foolish DSP watchers like me hope the bankruptcy court or IRS might catch on. After all, we're just a bunch of internet weirdos and we had it pretty well documented. Alas the IRS isn't going to know Phil has six tax fundraisers a year and still never paid his taxes.

Well said. DSP is under the radar of the IRS so as long as he doesn't go overboard with his deductions, he shouldn't be audited.

Compare Dark with Onision. Onion boy got nailed by the IRS because he wrote off his entire house, cars, etc on his taxes and defrauded the government hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years.
