DSP is absolutely fucked when Paypal flips the 'you get fined 20 bucks for chargebacks' lever back to on.

He has no ability to NOT instantly spend money. Considering he spent like 3k on one event? Imagine half that gets chargebacked afterwards and now he's in the hole.

Phil has always lost chargebacks but I really do think "confirmation" that he loses them is gonna fuck his shit up further when people become more brave about them.

The thing is he can instantly refund people trough streamlabs, so if he gets a donation from someone he thinks is suspect he can just ask that person who he is or just hit that button anyway, no chargeback fee will occur.

Now if you do a chargeback trough Paypal and have enough evidence that "seller" is operating in bad faith they might not even notify them and just push it trough.
I think this happened with DJruno and why Phill got so mad because it wasn't just $20 from Runo, but also the fee.
All off that could have been avoided if Phill told him upfront that he wasent gonna buy goose game and asked if runo wanted his money back, but greed is to strong so he was betting on the paypig falling in line and shutting up, which I guess happened in the end, I don't know what happened to Runo.

Is there actually any proof that PayPal now fines you $20 for EVERY chargeback that you get?

I'm not saying you're lying, it's just that I heard this before when I was watching Wings and we all thought that'd be the end of him since he (supposedly) gets a lot of those

If this is true, I can only think that this will put a huge dent into Phil's wallet income, but this "$20 fine for every chargeback that you get" from PayPal can look easily abused

It's not a PayPal fine per se, but all chargebacks from banks costs money so if you go straight to your bank to get a refund then PayPal will have to pay a chargeback fee which they then levy to the buyer.

Issuing a "chargeback" on PayPal's site is not the same as trough the bank so there wont be a fee unless your account is in zero(not sure about this so don't quote me on that)

Wings' trolls probably just go straight to PayPal but even if they go to a bank Wings still get notified and can issue a refund trought Streamlabs if not just trough PayPal and so no chargebacks happen. Chargebacks also takes some time since any bank not run by potato farmers will contact PayPal to find a "peacefull" solution.

I think these "chargebacks" are effectively just refunds. There's no fees when refunding people on Paypal after 180 days. I assume that these fees only apply if the seller fights the chargeback. This fits with what Wings says and you have to believe him because he'd be losing money overall while streaming if he had to pay $20 fees every chargeback.

My assumption with Phil: When Tut chargebacked thousands of dollars, Phil fought it. He lost most, if not all of them. He had to pay some of these fees, which extra pissed him off. This led to the "I never lose chargebacks, when you give me money, it's MY money" era in 2018-19 when Phil would say this every day, hoping to discourage people because it must eat at Phil having to refund these detractors.

I know some other streamers instantly refund large/suspicious tips because they 'get fined' for chargebacks. I don't know the specifics but its also why streamers usually leave tips in their PayPal account for a couple weeks to make sure they stick.

Since Phil doesn't do that and instead instantly spends money a chargeback even without the fine fucks him because paypal wants their money back and its already spent.

But if theres a way to ding the man with fines some dedicated trolls will find it. Phil doesnt have Wings tier trolls (yet). But theres gonna be a few people at least who realize they can fuck with Phil financially for free.

Didn't that Rumpelstiltskin guy just do a ton of successful chargebacks? Phil full of shit he never gets chargebacks.

Phil's full of shit because he's terrified of chargebacks because he doesnt have the money to give back, its instantly spent on dunb shit or gacha.

If Phil admits he loses chargebacks people will just chargeback more.

And Phil can't NOT spend money because his guild needs him

The guy leading our country right now. The parallels are insane. Bankruptcy, sham marriage, lying about income, lying about taxes, lying about how bald they are/combovers, thinks they're an expert in everything, running scams, thinks exercise is unnecessary/will kill you (seriously look up the trump lore on exercise), foot problems, one of their favorite lies is "people tell me", nasal problems (sniffs vs snorts) and I could think of more if I tried. And tell me these daily covid briefings aren't just like dave's prestreams, it's the same list of excuses, lies, and nonsense every day. trump has tried to ban detractor reporters even.
I'm convinced trump stopped in ct for helicopter parts one night bumped into to dave's mom at the local McDonalds and the rest is history.

Goddamn I love America.

Phil just got a tip from a 'Nazi asshole' and refused to add it to the tip goal, saying he's probably going to charge it back. And that 'this is what people are going to do now', because they're shitheads. I believe this would have also hit the tips goal for the day.

So Phil is either now using 'chargebacks' as an excuse to hide money, or has indeed been blasted by chargebacks and has now got his guard up about even mid-sized tips being used to hit the goal. This goes in line with what we were speculating, and is probably compounded by his habit of seemingly constantly emptying his tips account between streams, probably on Champions. He can't afford to be blindsided by chargebacks because he loses money he already spent. He got pretty spicy pretty fast.

EDIT: After Wall Market, Phil received another $20 tip he identied as a troll and refused to add to the total.

I find it hard to believe there isn't a mechanism in place, like a real business has to deal with, where they lose the ability to accept credit/debit card payments if there are too many chargebacks. It's one way you can beat a scam and why scammers use unheard of 'payment processors'.

I can't honestly imagine a worst way of actually spending money. You get some fleeting dopamine and a bigger number in a spreadsheet. Not to mention how would the company making the gatcha game would react if some of the A-logs of DPS would prove evidence that one of their top players has engaged in behaviors not really tolerated by overbearing tech companies.

His low impulse control is the reason why he got into a lolcow into the first place, while his lack of foresight makes sure he will stay one.

Are you serious? Scopely is the lowest of the low. They wouldn't care if Phil was getting the money by stealing cancer patients' chemo money.

Imagine the amazing best case scenario where Nancy the U.S. Trustee suddenly declares this is a no-asset bankruptcy again and he somehow gets a discharge and everything works out perfectly in pigroach-land.

He still gets to be a paypig to Scopely. He gets to enjoy no luxuries whatsoever. He gets to eat TV dinners. He gets to have a cunt wife who he doesn't even get to fuck. He gets to spend every penny he makes to get another sweaty dude jpeg.

That's his entire life. He is a ridiculous paypig to maybe the stupidest gacha game of all time. That's this pig's life.

his job is video games, and he is very bad at them. He fails all day, every day, and gets roasted by strangers for it. He gets a little bit of self esteem by winning at this, even though it has cost him everything. it is pretty fucking sad, but winning at a game is worth a lot more to him than any normal person.
