What type of bulking nutrition plan involves drinking large amounts of sugary soda?

I have some serious doubts he was at 12% body fat, that's about the lean/shredded looking threshold for most, and he always looked a bit bloated, maybe 14-15% bf at best.
Secondly, no athlete, pro or amateur, gains fat on purpose, loose skin is just an aesthetic issue, body fat is not just worse aesthetically, but also completely fucks up your sports capabilities and makes you sick. If you could jump and dunk, you can forget it at that weight unless you're like 200cm or w/e; if you ran sub 20 5ks, gone, if you road biked at 40km/h, gone, everything will be hard and horrible.
Easy to test. Let's say you're a guy that was 80kgs at 170cm. You lost weight, now you're 60-ish. Fill 10 2L bottles with water, put them in a backpack, and try running or walking fast. Yup, it is THAT much more you were carrying. Weight has dramatic effects.
Wurzel is just suiciding. Sure he's young and he has some athletic background/past, so he could fix it, but he seem too fucking retarded to do so for some reason.
No real athlete cares about "shredding" btw, unless you are some sort of bodybuilder. Sports dudes get shredded in the process of training for what they compete in. You train properly for rowing, you'll get shredded. Football? You'll get shredded. Basketball? leaner, and shredded. Long distance running and cycling? Even leaner, and shredded. Short distance, explosive running? Bulkier, and shredded.
You get the idea. Shredded is less of a goal, more of a side effect.
