What lessons will be taught to the class of 2071 about these few years in history?
Assuming historical research will be at least somewhat unbiased, it will be known as the time humanity managed to create a way to destroy themselves out of almost nothing. The kids will hopefully learn about how people's spirits were destroyed in the name of safety, profit, and power.

Finally some good fucking news! Congratulations to everyone in Texas and Mississippi and may the rest of the non-cucked states be soon to follow!

I want innocent people to needlessly die but I also don't want to go outside, so this trend fills me with conflicted feelings.

Unfortunately, it's only old social security leeches and people who carelessly let themselves get fat that die. It's okay though because the healthy and hard working are getting absolutely fucked by the lockdowns.

So how will this be remembered in history?
In the next generation or so, when most people alive will not have lived through the pandemic, how will our history books portray it?
A time of mass hysteria over a nothingburger?
A horrendous disaster where our political system failed at every level to mitigate the impact of a deadly virus?
A time where political divisions got in the way of rational thought and each side imposing/lifting restrictions in a misguided song and dance to spite the other?

What lessons will be taught to the class of 2071 about these few years in history?
None of the above. History is written by the winners, so it will be taught as a moment of triumph. It will go down as a time when President Kamala Harris saved everyone when Le Ebil Orange Man let his civilians die and that's why the Class of 2071 must wear masks and can't socialize like people used to.
Where's the Horrifying 🦴 rating when you need it?

Lol, isn't that pic awfully racist?

My city has contracted for 6 months with an agency that will provide "compliance check" services. Meaning, paid snitches. They will focus on customer-reported complaints in the evening and weekend hours primarily, but they will also do "spot checks" here and there. So the city can manage to roll that out quickly (apparently it's better to fine struggling businesses to get money rather than open up and get the tax revenues back on track) yet there are still UI claimants waiting for their first checks to arrive from last spring.

Well considering how CA is with ballot harvesting, Newsom could survive to continue his reign of terror. Who could run? I bet another actor or *shudder* Bruce Jenner for the woke points.
At this point, I'll take another AOC for a Clownworld lulz. Making politicians a little bit afraid for their jobs is a good thing even if we get Greta Omar-Cortez for a governor.

Didn't Lyndon B. Johnson outlaw this exact thing like 50 or so years ago?
No silly.
  • It's not racial segregation, it's "creating a safe space for BIPOC".
  • It's not "Black on Asian violence" its "White supremacy!"
  • It's not prostitution, it's "Sex work" and it's "empowering".
  • It's not "ruining public education", it's "Dismantling colonialist ways of knowing".

The leaf archetype is vampiric; you need to "invite him in" and then he drains the conversation of its vital essence. He injects in its place banal truisms that we've all heard before. Like a bat he screeches into the ether, waiting for his cretinous ideas to cause a vexing shudder through a more worthy person. Instinctively the more worthy person responds in attempt to shame the dullard into leaving. But this this is a leaf, he feels no shame. Responding to the leaf just causes him to hone in and vomit out all of his vacuous thoughts at you. It's in his nature.

Stop engaging, you will starve him.

God I’m jealous of my American friends. This fatass dictator Doug is never gonna repeal any of his bullshit. One thing that motherfucker does well is double down on his initial stupidity when faced with it.
Maybe I can work remotely from Texas

Now Mississippi is joining in on the fun. Mask mandate over (except for schools, anyway) - Honestly kinda green with envy at these two states ditching the facemuzzles. Massachusetts is gonna be dead-last to do so at the rate things are going.
I try to avoid powerleveling, but dammit, I'm glad my state's finally getting over it. Stupid that the mandates are still in place for schools when kids are the least vulnerable, but hopefully that won't last too much longer. I'm gonna go out this week and enjoy not wearing a mask at all anywhere I go. Maybe I'll make a day of it and treat myself to a bunch of things I love: head to the bookstores, dine out, catch a movie, or hell, just go in and out of a bunch of stores without a mask on.

Now I'm really curious about what my church is going to do, what with our return to in-person worship coming this Sunday. Now that the restrictions are widely removed, is there any point to keeping it up? I fear there will still be heel-draggers that will say "oh well it can't hurt," but there's really no justification for it anymore. Not like there was to begin with, but still. My hope is that all this extra bullshit goes so poorly that they abandon it when they realize how much work is involved and how little benefit there is. Might have to drag them kicking and screaming back to normalcy, but we'll see how it goes.

To those of you still under the thumb of your respective governments, my condolences. I'll continue praying for a return to sanity for you guys.

So apperantly Inslee finally approved teachers for the vaccine, guess thats the first step to kids having some semblance of a childhood again. Also my uni finally announced the return to in person in fall, which is nice, I expect facemuzzles to still be enforced however.
