Hi, I'd like to introduce you to Fort Meade, Maryland as well as many other US military NBC Warfare units and facilities, including protocol for working with FEMA and the CDC for mass outbreaks, including extensive drills and exercises in everything from doing house to house sweep and clear looking for dead, infected, or survivors, creating blockades and maintaining them while getting shipping through, and many many other interesting activities.

Sure, its budget was slashed heavily under Clinton and then Obama, but it's still there, the protocol still exists, the units still undergo training, and the equipment is all sitting there.

The LEAST of which is positive pressure system tents and negative pressure isolation units.

Also most hospitals in the US can turn their entire emergency department into an ICU if needed. Some newer ones can turn the entire med/surg unit into an ICU.

We're not China.

All this China dicksucking by progtards is fucking disgusting. They love China because they censor people they don't like. But these faggots would be first up against the wall, executed and their organs sold to the rich.

But au contraire, these people just recognize that China will become the foremost global hegemon by 2040.

'Hey pretty ladies, put on your masks!' China’s drone army tackles coronavirus by ordering people to wear protection or return home and spraying disinfectant over villages and cities

Christ, we really are living in a 1980s style near future dystopia aren't we?

Oh, I couldn't agree more. Buzzfeed? Garbage. Snopes? Dishonest.

But there are morons in this thread posting the dumb meme that the Wuhan Institute of Virology has a logo similar to that of the 'Umbrella Corporation'. This is so stupid that even Snopes has easily debunked it.
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/resident-evil-umbrella-coronavirus/

The actual logo is below.
View attachment 1124748
So, what does that say about the speculation in this thread?

A strikingly sound set of observations. Of course, you can't trust anyone ethnically Chinese not to be working for the Chinese government. Just a simple fact. Why not just say it.
Really, you think the descendants of people who moved to the US from China when it was still ruled by the Qing Dynasty are controlled by the PRC?
Mr. Lieber belongs to another kind of foreign national parasitizing the U.S.
He’s from Philadelphia. Besides, at least he isn’t a papist.

Christ, we really are living in a 1980s style near future dystopia aren't we?

Honestly I'd say this is one of the few sensible things drone technology can be used for. It's perfect; they can talk, they can carry objects, they can deliver messages, all with near-zero risk of contamination or spreading of disease. I could foresee drones being used in disease-ridden areas for stuff like food delivery and mass communication, which is a 100% positive in my opinion. The less human contact there is, the better.

4. If this country can fucking afford 11 aircraft carriers and a trillion a year in military, then yeah, it can fucking afford a warehouse with a standby operation for the inevitable arrival of a virus like this. What that would cost for a year would be less than the Military uses in a day. So no excuses on this.

What warehouse are you talking about? Aside from the US’s vast resources tasked to this sort of problem, Both Military, Fort Meade Maryland, civilian, CDC Atlanta, and a vast array of Academic facilities in hundreds of Universities. We do also have a fairly large stockpile of critical supplies. FEMA being the agency mostly tasked with that. Now there are limits. Unfortunately many types of medical supplies have a shelf life, which somewhat limits long term stockpiling of vast amounts of them. But the US does have the largest ready reserve of such things in the world. Pharmaceuticals are and always have been an issue. But that’s the nature of pharmaceuticals. Not the nature of emergency planning.

The US actually does have fairly well thought out plans for bio threats be they natural or otherwise. And does model and drill for them. I know, I’ve drilled on them A lot in the past. My wife is still in the public health system and has to train and prepare for this exact problem several times a year. Their last training was 2 weeks ago.

The US and Canada are probably better positioned for such a threat than anywhere else on earth. Largely for their size and scale. They can address it on a full broad national scale and don’t suffer from the various issues That crop up when you have a bunch of sovereign nations in a fairly small space, such as Europe or South America. China and Russia have some of those benefits, but suffer for not having full first world facilities or complete administrative control in their far western and eastern regions respectively.

All this China dicksucking by progtards is fucking disgusting. They love China because they censor people they don't like. But these faggots would be first up against the wall, executed and their organs sold to the rich.
It's mostly just tankies who don't realize that 21st century China p much gave up on Marxism-Leninism-Maoism. They vehemently defend an authoritarian capitalist society because they have the words "communist party" in their name and it's funny as shit to watch.

Sorta like if someone tried to tell you that NK starving and torturing its citizens is a sign that democratic republics are bad, and instead of correcting them you defensively try to argue that starving and torturing is in fact one of the great qualities of democratic republics and most of it is being blown out of proportion by lying Western media anyway.

(full disclosure before people try to fight me, I'm not a communist. Marx was a goon who thought he could predict the future)

China is, ironically, much closer to Fascism in ideological bent than Communism at this point. So seeing left-wingers defend a belligerent, ultranationalist, racial supremacist (Han supremacist) nation is pretty hilarious.

Anyone who says China is a communist nation is a fucking moron. If you want to talk about income inequality, China is a prime example of there being a massive disparity. There are Uber wealthy Chinese and a very large upper middle class living next to dirt poors who use gutter oil.
