Guess who the fuck lives right next to a huge as fuck Chinese suburb and now has to worry about the 3+ confirmed cases that possibly infected everything. Hella.
My county has 2.5 million people in about 150 square miles, and it's not even dense by Shanghai standards.

As pathetic as it is, I don't think any country could respond much better than throwing down a cement slab and erecting a sheet metal shanty hospital. It's either that, or start shoving sickness and death into buildings like schools or hotels.

Big thanks to all who are reading and translating things from mandarin. Hearing what the coupled up countrymen have to say plus the local and nation political games and fiascos are the most fascinating stuff so far from an outsider's perspective imo (the virus itself is just extra shitty pneumonia). Its not every day you get a good look at a totoletarian state going into panic from top to bottom.

In case we didn’t need more evidence how fucked up, backstabbing, spineless, and selfish Chinese people are.

Chinese guy at HD somewhere in Seattle buying up all the n95 masks available (posted on reddit).

Either their suits have shitty seams and seals or the pollution goblin's training is for shit and they're all taking their suits off, folding them up for reuse, and just heading home without any fucking decon.*

It is China, both is probably true.

Jokes on him: n95 isn't good enough.

Found this on a manufacturer's website.

Are N95 Masks Really Effective against the flu?
A little online research will reveal that the flu virus is .17 microns in size. Clearly smaller than even N100 masks can filter out. However, it is critical to understand that the flu virus does not float in the air by itself. The flu virus is transported from patient to patient on droplets of excretions from sneezing and coughing. These particles are typically 5 microns or larger. When a sick patient wears a respirator, the respirator can be very effective at preventing infectious material from leaving the patients body, and when worn by healthy individuals, it prevents inhalation of said material. More importantly, wearing a mask is a excellent way of preventing the user from rubbing or touching their mouth or nose, which is a very high risk factor. At the end of the day will an N95 mask guarantee to protect you from the Flu? No. But it can substantially reduce your risk or receiving or transmitting the disease.

So basically, the N95 isn't perfect, but it's better than nothing and will probably protect against most particulates, or at least keep you from touching your own damn face.

Dunno if its been posted yet but I just found this on twitter and found it quite amusing. Apparently this guy is sitting at the entrance to his village with a fucking glaive to warn off potential plague carrying outsiders from entering

I wonder if we gonna see the Warlords make a comeback should this shit hit china as bad as some fear?

Is this shit still in the only-kills-old-people category or do the rest of us need to stock up on gas masks and tins of beans and shit?

I know someone flying out of a major international airport next week. Is he gonna get wuflu, come back, and kill me with it?
