It might actually be beneficial to catch the disease early, before the medical services become overwhelmed.
It might be even more beneficial to shower regularly, wash your hands, and minimize contact with unsanitary objects.

Seems like the biggest issue under-riding this whole thing is that China (and presumably similar countries like India) are FUCKED when it comes to public health and safety. since industrialization came as an alien, outside force that transformed their societies relatively overnight, they never had the reform and muckraking eras that western countries had where they stopped and realized the precautions needed in order to make such tightly-packed urban ways of life work. I guess it hasn't been too huge of an issue since most sicknesses are in some capacity curable, but when something new comes along none of the standards that keep /US/ from going to shit exist.
then again we aren't much better, importing third-world refugees to re-introduce extinct diseases

Yea I don’t get it. They’re saying there are limited seats so they can’t bring everyone. Like what the fuck, America doesn’t leave people behind in China to die to some fucked up bat disease. We charter another flight and get everyone out who wants to leave. The embassy staff and families are leaving without a charge, private citizens will have to pay.

Who knew Frequent Wind would be something to aspire to in this day and age.

The woman in the video says it’s only for embassy employees. I agree, we shouldn’t ask or force people to pay $1k for a flight, what we don’t have the money as the wealthiest nation on earth to cover flights for our citizens?

Our state department is a joke, pompeo is garbage but idk why Trump isn’t saying to get these people home. If anything this is a good reminder the US government doesn’t give a shit about us outside the US.
It's standard procedure for citizens abroad to have to pay back USGOV for chartered flights to dangerous areas to bring them back home in an emergency. You can always elect to stay in the middle of a war or bio-weapon outbreak if you don't want to pay.

Does anybody have a link to a good medkit guide? Just bought one but I have no idea how to use it.

No, this is standard procedure. Same thing if you were traveling overseas, something happened, and you had no money to get home. Embassy will get you a ticket home but you'll need to pay for it later.

Also keep in mind, like it or not, that China is still very much into saving face. So they don't want a fleet of foreign airliners and especially not foreign military planes coming into Beijing/wherever to spirit out thousands of foreign nationals. Can you imagine the scenes at airports? Would look like a bunch of refugees fighting to get out. So at least for now foreign nationals who want to leave are going out a planeload at a time. Depending on the country, we'd either send airliners, USAF transports, or both, if need be, or in the case of small islands, maybe a Navy vessel or two.

There are procedures and contingency plans for evacuations like this. These do happen, from time to time. These evacuations are in addition to anyone else who leaves on their own. Keep in mind that the State Department cannot force you to leave any foreign country you are visiting. They will post advisories for US citizens advising them to leave a specific area, province/state, or country, and/or not go there in the first place. Up to you if you want to go there or leave there. The embassy will provide points of contact for those wishing to leave but who presently cannot afford travel out of the country.

So in addition to those leaving via the State Department. many more will leave on their own dime and of their own accord.

Someone on /pol/ reported that the translator said there were 22,000 newly confirmed infection cases from this video.

I'm trying to look for it now.

I don't know why you guys are cheering for a country with nuclear weapons to collapse. Sounds like a recipe for a really bad time.

They use those against anyone who isn't themselves and they'll be nothing but a crater in the end. Poor bastards dug their own grave a long time ago.

If Xi did contract the disease, what's the chance of it being leaked? It'd likely be a case of doctors "mysteriously disappearing" if the information got out.
Would anyone be willing work on him in the first place? If he ends up kicking the bucket more than one person is gonna die.
