5 years ago was the Ebola virus, correct? Basic sanitisation/rapid mutation saved the day. Here, the virus seems to be mutating extremely fast to increase the spread of infection.

The building contained like 50x the legal amount of some industrial chemical and was owned by a government official's nephew. Afterwards the rain burned peoples skin and there were reports of a weird foam on the ground. If you think China is a pillar of honesty, I have a bridge to sell you.

Also this. There's just too many factors at play here, which makes you think of all the things that could go wrong. Gives me the shakes and I'm normally calm in these apocalypto scenarios. Going to walk my dog and let the cold winter air soothe my overly warm blood.

It is always "different" this time, here is what we (in the west do, China is fucked..but well that is their fault for being dirty Reds) do.

1. Wash your hands like a normal person
2. Drink some Extra OJ to boost up the immune system
3. Don't sperg out and think the world is going to end.

Sure China's economy is going to go to shit if this gets out of hand..but China's economy was always destined to go to shit.

I agree that it probably won't affect America hard, but America is only one country out 200ish countries. If we lose 100 million folks worldwide but not a single American, that's still a pandemic.

when was the last time 50 million people were quarantined? when was the last time a lethal virus with a 2 week incubation period went global? when was the last time the chinese government closed down 15+ cities and sacrificing billions in revenue. you don't see this shit go down when someone has a regular flu...

Yeah but how many folks do you think actually have as much Vitamin C as they should in their diet of Steak/Potatos or Bugs/Soy depending on location. That isn't a "Magical cure" suggestion that is a "Hey, make sure the tank is topped off to be safe" suggestion.

PS : I am one of those folks who probably doesn't have enough Vitamin C in their diet.

Yeah I am kinda doubting that photo is actually current.

Granted it could just be a field expedience thing but I would think they would have some Jersey Barriers or some knockoff HESCO stuff. Not making a fucking literal cobblestone wall, I am doubting this info until further notice.

no reason to panic. but imo the stakes are a novel virus which does more damage than the common flu and spreads faster. think of how the flu mutates and comes back every season, except instead of the flu it's very serious cases of pneumonia that might permanently harm even healthy people. I hope it isn't as bad as people are guessing because it will make life real shitty and we won't even get to shoot zombies or daywalkers for catharsis.

Real world 101: don't listen to words, watch actions. The numbers China is providing do not worry me, but their scorched-earth, pants-on-head response is honestly concerning and certainly "different this time." At some point, very likely in our lifetimes, one of these events is going to be real. The early stages will play out exactly like this, i.e., misinformation, obfuscation, government panic. It's rational to take this seriously and perform some measured precautions before it's at your door, even if these usually don't amount to anything.
