Don't want to PL, but I currently find myself in less-than-comfortable proximity to the outbreak, surrounded by Chinese people. I'm far more concerned for the people around me, as I've always weathered these sorts of bugs very well. Should probably go ahead and invest in a mask so I don't kill any old ladies by accident.
Try me. My suburb has 50,000 people per square mile.

We laughed at them for not having toilets. We laughed at them for shitting in the streets. We laughed at them for wiping with their hands. But now they're laughing at us for not spending thousands of years honing and strengthening our immune systems
When you were pasteurizing, I shat in the streets. When you were separating your meat and vegetables, I mastered the junk heap. While you wasted your days at the sink in pursuit of hygiene, I cultivated inner strength. And now that the world is on fire and the barbarians are at the gate, you have the audacity to come to me for help?

Shanghai reported to have treated an infected patient.
Broken translated transcript:
The Shanghai Municipal Health and Health Commission announced on January 24: Chen, the first case of pneumonia in Shanghai with a new type of coronavirus infection, was scientifically guided by the city-level expert team after admission, and the medical staff carefully diagnosed and treated. The condition gradually improved, and the body temperature was normal At 6 days, respiratory symptoms improved significantly, and pulmonary imaging showed significant absorption of inflammation. Two new coronavirus nucleic acid tests were negative. As assessed by the Shanghai expert group, the new confirmed coronavirus-infected pneumonia cases were released from isolation. And discharge standards have been cured and discharged today.

The patient was a female, 56 years old, and lived in Wuhan for a long time. On January 10, he developed fever and fatigue in the local area. He arrived in Shanghai on January 12 and was treated in a hospital in Shanghai on the evening of January 15. The review and testing and expert evaluations organized by the National Health and Health Commission confirmed that it was the first confirmed case of pneumonia in Shanghai with a new coronavirus infection.

Still, can someone actually confirm this?As far as vaccines are concerned it's currently in development but otherwise time-consuming.

Is this mask any good against the coronavirus? I have filters for it...somewhere.

(there's no ammo in that can, I use to store old dvds in case any glowies are here)

I feel like Papa Frank running into the Weeaboo Protection Chamber yet still end up growing the neckbeard anyway, and then Weeaboo Jones breaks in. Just replace "weeaboo" with "off-and-on coughing and clearing throat". And my stuff hasn't even come in yet, think they're being held hostage at the LA International Distribution Center. Well shit.

Think my biggest concern right now is if pets are able to catch it. Got an elderly cat, an indoor-outdoor cat, and a third who was actually exposed to the coronavirus as a kitten before we got her (she's healthy). How fucked are they if the family gets it?

Staying clean and avoiding crowds will do more. As long as the mask creates a seal and your filters are quality, it should do. Got a tyvek suit laying around?

Not to sound cruel, but you have your priorities backwards. Having an outdoor/indoor pet would naturally increase your risk of illness. If you are really worried about this, you might want to keep pets inside.

jonathan yaniv's degeneracy has summoned the four horsemen of the apocalypse, the only way to cure corona virus is to sacrifice him to god before we all die.

when a kiwi gets the virus, please make a thread so we can ask questions and properly document what it's like to die from a biblical plague.

not all coronaviruses are the same, your cats are fine- id avoid letting the one outside if you have cases in your town tho

I guess some of the probable cases have now been confirmed.

Edit: Lol at this article from the Daily Mail. I'd paste it, but their articles get messy when cutting and pasting them.

What possesses these people to eat all these bizarre things? Are they accustomed to the famine from the olden times and just never went back to eating normal human food?

Haven't seen these in here...

Senator Asks for travel restrictions said:
US Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) has asked the Trump administration "when and how" it will restrict travel between the US and China, in light of confirmed coronavirus cases in the US, in a letter sent to several Administration officials.

The letter, dated January 24, was sent to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and heads of Department of Health & Human Services, Department of Transportation and Department of Homeland Security.

The letter reads in part:

"I appreciate that CDC has already initiated screening for the virus at major airports and would urge you to expand this program as aggressively as possible. I also appreciate that CDC has issued a travel advisory for the region. However, I believe Americans deserve advance notice of your plans to evaluate more aggressive limitations on travel between the U.S. and China and of any additional considerations that might lead you to refrain from such measures."
Hawley asks for a response to his letter within a week.

Got a feeling that we're gonna see more countries doing this.

Yes, mixed in with Peasant food eventually becomming "high dining" with cultural shifts like Lobster and crab.

I'm not too concerned "yet" I want to see how other countries handle their infected first. I want to see how well being in a sanitary environment with proper medicine effects the virus. Don't get me wrong I think the Chinese are going to get slammed but for the moment I think they are so use to filth they have no idea what the hell they are doing. And while they play "super power" the Chinese are going to die.

i got another email from my school listing all the symptoms of the coronavirus and all the local hospitals
should i be worried kiwis?

edit: am i fucked if i live in a dorm…?

do you have any long term food storage?
If yes, then not yet.
If no, then nigger go buy 25lbs of rice, a bunch of tinned meat, multivitamins and C supplements.

And water.

Ngl, I'm a pretty hard person to excite/panic, but this shit has me a bit antsy. Mostly due to the fact I don't trust the chinks worth shit on any of this. Not to pl, but me or the elderly family member getting sick would be extremely concerning.

I'm not about to scramble for masks, but if I do, dumb question, but do they have any expiration date? Like if this shit blows over can I store them in the closet for the next time the shit hits the fan? I guess it's always good to have shit like this on hand anyway.

The 3M N95's I purchased in 2018 are labeled 'Use by 2023'. 5 years is a long time to buy new and fresh ones.
