So my takeaway so far today

  • Madagascar has not closed their borders yet

Only a matter of time...

Boy, the 2020s are shaping up to be something special, we're not even at the end of the first month and already war with Iran seemed like a real possibility and now it seems like things could go all Stephen King's The Stand on us.

I'm definitely pretty worried now because this has already gone past the point of the Ebola scare in 2014 or the Swine Flu scare in 2009, this isn't just the same old routine anymore.

Human stupidity will be our downfall,

but the "last plague" for sure would be called as such because it'd kill off the human race.

That's the sad irony of the human race is for all of our achievements we are also a profoundly stupid species.

But I don't think it would be possible for a virus to render the human race totally extinct, but it could be the end of modern civilization for sure.

On on hand this screams REALLY fucking bad due to the ccp going from everything is fine to putting multiple massive metropolitan areas under quarantine in less than 24hrs

but if theirs any country that has the means and lack giving a fuck about the ramfications of using extreme measures to subdue/eradicate the situation it is China

the rapid level escalation is definatly concerning tho

I think it's too late for a quarantine to work. Incubation is 14 days in some cases, averaging around 9. Fucking everyone is traveling this time of year and there are already tons of people from wuhan who are all over the country. There are even some who have fevers and are bragging about getting out of town before the lockdown.

Just a few hours ago Vietnam announced its first confirmed case, and this was a guy who left Wuhan on the 13th and first showed symptoms on the 17th.

Ok chaps we need us some thematically appropriate music for the coming nightmare

Here are my entrants the reasonings for their inclusion

DONT FEAR THE REAPER - BLUE OYSTER CULT
Reason: It was used in both the book and miniseries of the aforementioned The Stand by Stephen King, sums up the general acceptance most doomer wannabes in this corner of the internet have with the prospect of dying of a neo-plague quite well, and honestly its one of my favourite songs so I kinda had to nominate it

EAST HASTINGS - GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR
Reason: Best song of the already sublime soundtrack to 28 days later which is probably my favourite pandemic apocalypse movie and one of my top three favourite zombie movies anne-frankly given the footage of the deserted Wuhan coming out it fits really well given its use in the "empty london" scene

WHEN THE MAN COMES AROUND - JOHNNY CASH
Reason: It was prominently used in the surprisingly awesome intro sequence to the frankly mediocre Dawn of the Dead remake and its lyrics are literally quotes from the book of revelations so it seems appropriate

Apparently, some Chink dissident currently in Australia posted it. Presumably, it's Wuhan, yeah. I cannot confirm if it's true or not but seems legit.

Not to powerlevel too much, but I have personally fainted and collapsed once when I unknowingly had a pneumonia during my army days, shit's not fun. (The medical staff was horseshit and it took the eventual collapse to finally diagnose it).

Collapses like these, if caused by the Coronavirus, point to severe respiratory issues like pneumonia.

Well chums I found this case tracker thingy from John Hopkins University which might be of interest

Well their air is barely breathable to begin with....
Between the aging population and how crappy the average immune system must be thanks to all the gnarly shit in the air/water/food, I wonder whether this shit is going to have a far worse effect on China than other places

Well, it's SARS' cousin.

I nominate Gordon's Revenge-The Macc Lads because fuck you, it's funny.

Between the incubation time and the confirmation of cases across the globe I think it's safe to say that quarantine is fucked. I'm going to try not to worry too much and stay optimistic but this thing seems to have stronger legs under it than previous pathogen scares.

One of the possible effect of the disease was diarrhea, shart in the mart? Possible US revenge for the trade wars?
Either that or Allah finally got of his ass in response to the Uygher shit and cursed them with a plague that simulated the effect of a bad kebab on the human body

I personnally appreciate how the CCP tackles it's overpopulation and air pollution problem, truly, they exceeded my expectations when it comes down to their cutbacks on carbon emission and did it the 100% natural way too, truly, they were ahead of their time by engineering an open market plague from the middle ages through social engineering.

I got one close relative that's finally happy in Thailand after he went through shit actually oh fuck oh god oh fuck

{video} Someone had mentioned the fight video earlier.
This just shows ignorance when it comes to SHTF scenarios all I'm seeing is fresh produce in the bags. Good luck finding food in a few weeks if this situation doesn't improve.
If you ever find yourself in a quarantine or some other disaster situation that has the potential to last a while buy bottled water and canned goods.

Its been about 100 years since the last global pandemic (the spanish flu) and governments are not ready for dealing with another one, if this ends up going south be prepared or at least have a game plan or you'll end up in an open air grave .

On a scale of not great to not terrible, where does this fall?

Translation from a YouTube commentator:
I don't want to go home? (rhetorical) I don't want to go home for the New Year? (rhetorical) What have you guys done! What have you guys done! [Can't comprehend] you want to us to do 4 shifts? we are already doing 3 shifts? We don't want to go [back for NY]? You come and look. What are you really trying to do huh? You need to [don't know] remove them. On the floor, you have to remove them. [can't comprehend] then just fire me. Tell me to get the fuck out. Tell me I am fired.

[women trying to comfort him]

I am not starting a fight [or I am not making trouble]

[she comforts him more]

HOW DO YOU TREAT ALL THESE PEOPLE ON THE FLOOR!

[women says tell the hospital head to come]

Which principal is willing to come?

[1st woman, maybe we can ask the patient {or their family} to plead]

[second women, not sure if nurse or patient, says no point, already tried]

[third woman, did you talk to the principal?]

[second woman, well I don't know who is the principal, I talk to them, I called in emergency, I call the cityhall {maybe}]

I don't need more doctors, we have doctors, [I am guessing bed issues?]
