On Monday, Hunt addressed a growing number of deaths in aged care, with 473 Covid-related aged-care deaths recorded in January alone.
“The latest advice that I have is that approximately 60% of those that have agonisingly passed have been in palliative care,” Hunt said. He added: “The definition is that they have passed with Covid, and they are absolutely rightly counted as a national loss. But approximately 60% of those that have passed were in palliative care.”

Actively palliated residents in Australian nursing homes have, on average, a week of life left. So what's happening? A nursing home reports a positive case, they're ordered to swab every single resident multiple times until the home is clear of Covid. Unsurprisingly Omicron spreads like wildfire particularly in facilities that have had to send most of their staff home to isolate because they also have Covid (which is a lot of them). The residents who are already at death's door start throwing positive swabs, they die of whatever it is that ails them (cancer, heart failure, dementia) but of course they're reported as 'Covid deaths". They've been padding the mortality numbers like this for a while but due to the high infectivity rate of Omicron Covid it's getting a little silly so the government has decided to tell the truth for once. The Covidians are not happy.

“How much more disrespectful to elderly Australians can this government be,” Butler asked. “To turn around and say basically, ‘you were just going to die anyway,’ rather than acknowledging that they died faster and in difficult conditions because the government didn’t look after them well enough.

Letting Covid rip through homes and these people become infected is hardly delivering people the best quality of life that they can have.”

I can only speak to what my wife tells me. She's an RN and works part time in a home. Omicron ripped through the facility 3 weeks ago and they're still reporting the odd positive case. Omicron is an incredibly mild infection, far less lethal than flu (which kills thousands of the elderly but no one cares about that). Typical symptoms are a sore throat, feeling a bit under the weather, headaches and body aches. She hasn't seen a pneumonia once and no deaths that she'd attribute to Covid. One of the residents was on a morphine drip and tested positive, they died the next day because...... they were on a morphine drip. Staff have nothing to do with writing death certificates and they don't see them but I assume that person has been marked down in the mortality data.

The fact that they have a few days or even hours of life left is highly fucking relevant. We used to call pneumonia the friend of the aged as it hastened death from painful disease like cancer. But it's not like the infected elderly are dying of pneumonia, they're not. The fact they have some virus detected in their nasal passages is completely incidental to the cause of death.

The figure the minister used is from ongoing data provided by the states and territories on lives lost in residential aged care residences.

It shows that of the deaths from Covid, 61% were in palliative care. Of the 73% of people who died who were fully vaccinated, 63% of those were in palliative care. Of all those who died, 73% were fully vaccinated and 8% were partially vaccinated.

There's almost no residents in Australian nursing homes that aren't at least double jabbed. Almost all of these deaths are among the vaxxed. Not that it really matters, Omicron isn't killing anyone.

Ten days in managed isolation and quarantine (MIQ) has turned into 40 days and 40 nights of quarantine for a Dunedin family after members of the group tested positive for Covid-19.
The Williamson family, consisting of mum Casey, dad Glen, and children Sam, Luca and Maya, had been in quarantine since January 16 after a Christmas trip to Australia to visit family.
On January 21, five days into their initial 10-day MIQ stay in Auckland, the family received bad news.
Daughter Luca had tested positive for Covid-19, meaning the family had to transfer to a quarantine facility.
It also meant the clock was reset on their isolation, and by 24 days for most of the family.

Mrs Williamson and Maya would have another 10 days in isolation on top of that, although their clock could be reset again if either tested positive.

That means the pair will be in quarantine for at least 40 days.

Mr Williamson moved into a separate room yesterday so he could start 10 days isolating by himself and potentially be ready to take the two older girls back to Dunedin earlier.
Mrs Williamson said the situation had families in quarantine trying desperately to infect each other with Covid-19 so they could be released sooner.
"That’s what we tried to do, we’re sharing toothbrushes, drinking out of water bottles, not cleaning our hands."
The family were restricted to two hotel rooms and were allowed outside to an exercise yard for 30 minutes a day.
The first days of quarantine went well, as the family hunkered down with movies, board games and craft activities.
But the children were starting to struggle with isolation after two weeks.
"They asked me how long we’re going to be here and I said to Luca today, ‘14 more days’, and she just started crying. She wants to go home."
Mrs Williamson said she did not see the point of such extended stays any more when Omicron was now in the community, with cases allowed to isolate at home.
"The Government trusted us to isolate at home when we were infected in the last two lockdowns, so I don’t really see what the difference is.
"Any other time when someone’s infected you isolate at home and the Government just trust you to do the right thing. You don’t need to lock us up like this any more."
The family had flown to Sydney on December 19 to spend Christmas with Mrs Williamson’s family, and were originally due to return on January 17, to take advantage of the commencement of self-isolation at home.
Mrs Williamson said she had only seen her family once since the start of the pandemic, and they knew there could be a risk the self-isolation trial would be cancelled or postponed.
"You know you’re taking a risk, but you know that that emotional side takes over from the logical side and you just want to go and be with your family."
Unfortunately, just days after they arrived in Australia, the Government announced self-isolation would be suspended until at least the end of February.
The family were prepared for spending 10 days in MIQ if need be, but were not aware that could be extended further with each new positive test.

So these people did random bullshit, and don't even want to take it back because it would be too confusing.

I don’t think it can be said often enough that the leftist establishment’s dismissal of all early treatments for COVID in favor of vaccines, followed by hospitalization when people are in extremis, will go down as the greatest slaughter of Americans since the Civil War. Whether driven by politics, profit, or the power that vaccine mandates have given them, the entire leftist establishment dismissed Ivermectin as a “horse de-wormer” making it almost impossible for doctors to prescribe it. Yet a Japanese study shows that, in fact, Ivermectin is both “safe” and “effective.”

Because COVID appeared in America during an election year, Democrats and other leftists could not allow Trump to deal with it successfully. That meant that they had to slap down any possible treatments and keep the focus on ruinous lockdowns, ineffectual masks, and chimerical vaccines. Any early treatments were dismissed as poisonous. Instead, we were told that there was nothing to be done about COVID until we were near death, at which point going to the hospital might save us—especially if we got incredibly expensive, toxic, minimally effective Remdesivir.

When Trump mentioned the possible efficacy of Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), an old, stable, safe malaria medicine, it was instantly shouted down as a deadly fish treatment. That came as a surprise to me because, several years ago, when I was going to Cambodia, Kaiser’s travel nurse automatically prescribed HCQ as a prophylactic to prevent my getting malaria. Although I’m the person who always gets the side effects, I had no problems with HCQ (plus, I didn’t malaria).

Then, when word began to emerge from Africa, Latin America, and India that Ivermectin, a truly magical anti-parasitical that has changed life across the third world for the better, the establishment instantly tagged it as a “horse de-wormer.” And once again, Americans were denied a safe, effective early treatment for COVID.

And mind you, these medicines weren’t just subject to derision. The FDA refused to authorize them for COVID treatment. Vast HMOs, usually headed by leftists, also refused to allow them to be used in an off-label way. Meryl Nass, a physician in Maine, not only had her license suspended for prescribing Ivermectin and HCG, the medical board demanded that she undergo a psychiatric evaluation to get it back.

To understand what was going on, imagine a situation in which you develop an infection—say, a urinary tract infection (UTI). Currently, you’re uncomfortable and it’s getting worse. You contact your doctor, seeking an antibiotic.

To your surprise, the doctor tells you that you can’t have the antibiotic because it might upset your stomach. Instead, the doctor says that you should wait until you’re running an incredibly high fever, have agonizing abdominal pain, and are beginning to hallucinate. At that point, head to the hospital, and your doctor will see about treating you. Oh, and he’ll treat you with an industrial-strength antibiotic that has a 75% chance of permanently damaging your liver and kidneys.

What you really should do, says your doctor, is get a shot against future UTIs. Never mind that you’re generally very unlikely to get a UTI or that UTIs are easily treated in their early stages. He also tells you to ignore that the shot won’t actually stop you from getting UTIs. What’s important is that it might lessen the chances of your going septic. Maybe. And don’t worry about the fact that the shot might damage your heart and increase your chances of cancer. And for God’s sake, stop whining....

To add insult to the profound injuries the establishment has inflicted on the American people, with more than 800,000 deaths attributed to COVID, a Japanese study confirms that Ivermectin was always safe and effective:

A Japanese conglomerate has found that the anti-parasitic drug ivermectin is effective and safe for the treatment of the coronavirus Omicron variant, according to a phase III clinical trial.

Kowa Co. Ltd., a conglomerate with interests in trading, hospitality, and electronics, along with health and medical applications, issued a press release (pdf) on Jan. 31 stating that ivermectin has been found to be effective against Omicron.

Kowa representatives didn’t respond to a request for comment by press time.

The company, working with Kitasato University based in Tokyo, said that ivermectin has the “same antiviral effect” on all “mutant strains,” including Alpha, Delta, and Omicron. Kowa added that ivermectin suppresses invasion of the virus and inhibits its replication.

This is like Dorothy discovering that her ruby slippers always had the power to return her to Kansas. However, they wouldn’t work as long as she wasn’t ready to believe.

We cannot resurrect those who died nor remedy the lives destroyed thanks to the establishment’s murderous determination to prevent Trump from being reelected. But one day, when (if) American life returns to normal, the people most responsible for denying treatment to Americans (I’m looking at you Dr. Fauci), must be put in the dock and tried for crimes against humanity.

Some women got it, and went on to either have healthy babies or lost a viable pregnancy/newborn died. I hope so but for thousands of pages in this thread it's always been some good news, some bad news. All it takes is some bullshit from Joepedo's bureaucrats and your freedoms are gone again (even internationally since the US has so much pull). That said, 2022 might be a good year since it's cheaper to lift these unconstitutional orders than it is to print ballots, but watch for "new variants" showing up which by mid/late November "suddenly" are discovered to be "concerning" enough that we all need to start wearing two masks and take another jab again.

For instance, Ed Murrow, considered one of journalism's greats, dismissed the idea and later died of lung cancer (although to his credit, he actually aired the issue on his TV show). Only Reader's Digest (because the owners were very religious) of the major publications promoted the idea of smoking as dangerous.

Big Pharma is playing all the same games as Big Tobacco did back in the day, but is far, far stronger given the amount of experts they own, and they already owned a lot of experts before 2020. It's all based on establishing shill organizations, lobbying, buying out journalists and politicians, and using PR to your advantage. And the impact is far, far worse, since breathing someone else's cigarette smoke for hours at a restaurant or on a plane is far better than mask mandates or vaxx passports.

On Sunday, January 23, there was a march and rally in Washington, D.C.: "Defeat the Mandates: An America Homecoming." On Monday, January 24, Senator Ron Johnson hosted a panel discussion where about a dozen of these same doctors shared their personal testimonies.
These are not doctors just plucked off the street, but professionals from all over the country who are tops in their particular field. One doctor is the CEO of a medical organization with over 17,000 medical and scientific members. The mainline media called their narratives a "false narrative."
Listen to what these doctors had to say.

"Let doctors be doctors; let the doctor and patient determine the treatment, not the government."
"The men who founded America were not professional politicians, but farmers, shop people, and land-owners."
"It was a serious mistake to let government officials control health care rather than doctors and nurses, who really knew what was happening."
One doctor pointed out that the things that were important to him were his wife, his kids, and his grandkids. He insisted we take a stand for our grandkids.
"Don't let them vaccinate your kids. While vaccinating may have seemed like a good idea at the start of the pandemic, vaccinating kids makes no sense. Children have natural immunity, rarely catch the flu, and more rarely pass it on to others. Many have suffered because of the vaccinations."
"Vaccinating children has had very negative results. Some, especially the boys, have had permanent heart damage. Some girls became sterile."
"If your child is injured because of the introduction of an unproven vaccine, you have no remedy: drug companies are no longer liable for drug failures. "
One doctor shared how he was working in the emergency room of a hospital and was seeing a lot of success by treating with off-label drugs. The hospital banned those drugs and would not let him use them. He then had no way to save his patients.
One doctor pointed out that the drug companies along with the CDC, the NIH, and the FDA are pushing very expensive drugs and resisting the early use of much cheaper drugs. These off-label drugs, when used at the right time and with the right dose, are very effective, and they cost only pennies.
"It is evident that there is a lot of fraud in the health care business, which is a terrible tragedy."
"Following the protocol of Dr. Fauci and the CDC has cost a lot of unnecessary deaths."
"The common prescription was to send the patient home until he turned blue, and then bring him to the hospital. The patient was given dangerous drugs, and often he died because the proper treatment was not available, or it was too late."

The rally took place on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. One doctor pointed out that another American shared his "dream" on that very spot in a 1963 rally.
One doctor pointed out the importance of having "Integrity, Dignity, and Community," traits that seem to be lacking to us today. He pointed out the importance of a little kindness and good works.
Several doctors pointed out how our Constitution has served us well for over two hundred years, but it is gradually being eroded. The American Constitution has no provision for the abandonment of our rights because of a medical emergency. They pointed out that the action by the CDC and other health officials is leading to tyranny.
"These vaccines are still experimental; they have not yet been proven or approved for general use."
"The vaccines that were developed two years ago for the Covid 19 virus are not effective at all against the omicron variety of the flu."
"Masks do no good. They do not keep you from getting the disease or prevent you from giving it to another person. The virus is many times smaller than the mesh in the mask and the virus goes right through it."
"Children need to be free of masks. Young children learn to talk by watching your face. The expression on a face often says as much as the words communicated, and this is impossible when wearing a mask."
"We were told to lock down and isolate for two weeks to flatten the curve, so hospitals would not be overwhelmed. Almost two years later and that directive is still in place in some locations. Hospitals were waiting for a great influx of covid patients. But it did not happen. Often the hospitals were almost empty and doctors were sent home."
"We were told that the answer was a vaccine: Then it was a booster; Then a second booster. Evidence makes it clear that vaccines do not prevent you from catching the virus, nor do they prevent you from giving it to another."

"Natural immunity is far more effective than any mask or vaccine could ever hope to be. Natural immunity lasts a lifetime and vaccinations wear off in just a short while."
"Most hospitals insisted that all staff had to be vaccinated. They made no provision for natural immunity, or for immunity that resulted from having covid. Unless the person was vaccinated he was terminated. This made no sense, as hospitals, which were already short of staff, were made even shorter. Medical professionals, who had been treated like heroes during the height of the pandemic were later treated like domestic terrorists if they refused to be vaccinated."
One doctor pointed out the importance of personal choice. All medical decisions need to be made between the doctor and the patient. The patient always has the choice of seeking a second opinion if he is not satisfied with the diagnosis. Patients need to regain control over their bodies and what is put into them. That needs to be their choice, not that of any government official.
The common theme of the medical discussions was "protect your children; protect your rights." Our rights are being gradually taken away from us. This has got to stop.
One doctor pointed out an old maxim: "Let truth loose; it will defend itself."
Another doctor pointed out that one province in India could not get vaccines so they used off-label drugs. The result was that they had far fewer fatalities than other locations around them.

Several doctors quoted part of the Hippocratic Oath, which says: "First, do no harm". The medical profession has traditionally been committed to protecting the patient and not doing any harm. Politicians have placed doctors in a position where they cannot possibly care for their patients as they ought to.
One doctor concluded by offering hope: "We shall get through this." "There is hope in the future. Stop thinking about the past. You cannot do anything about it. Think of the future and what you can do about it."
Several doctors asked those who attended the rally to go home and take action to open the eyes of those around them. Many forms of mass communication have been shut down; doctors have been removed from certain platforms. But the truth must get out. Otherwise, we will only have tyranny.

Then it was the open and fair election of 2020 that armed insurrectionists, inspired by the defeated President Trump, dared to challenge. Now, just up the road we have uncouth anti-vaxxer Canadian truckers surrounding Parliament Hill in Ottawa in another attempted insurrection. Eh?
And that is saying nothing about riots and mayhem in the streets of our European allies.
What is going on? Why don’t the science deniers accept the science and the life-saving vax mandates devotedly worked out by our educated experts?

Notice that in emergence we do not necessarily know why the tech head, animal, or thing has changed the world. Thus, emergence replaces the issue of “free will” and conscious action versus instinct or unconscious action and the concept of “agency.” Even a bacteria seems to act with “agency.”
Gosh, why aren’t our liberal friends all demanding an emergence revolution to replace the current rigid rule of the experts?
We know why. It’s the science. Way back in 1962, when Thomas H. Kuhn wrote The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, he asserted that science only changes when the old generation of scientists dies off. He forgot to add: ruling classes.
The only way that politics changes is when the old generation of rulers becomes totally decrepit and is good for nothing more than going out for ice cream. And then dies off.
Our liberal friends are dying off. Their God is dead. But our liberal friends are still in the decadence phase of the Nietzschean descent into hell, still licking the ice cream cone and not realizing that it is the lick of death. And nihilism is yet to come, and the terror of the eternal recurrence.
Will our liberal friends ever experience the revaluation of all values, like Phil Connors in Groundhog Day, and buy life insurance, and help old ladies, and catch kids falling out of trees, and take piano lessons, and finally win the love of the lovely Rita Hanson?

(CNN)New Zealand's Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern has entered self-isolation until Tuesday after being deemed a close contact of a positive Covid-19 case.
"The exposure event took place on Saturday 22 January during flight NZ8273 from Kerikeri to Auckland," the New Zealand government said in a press release Saturday.

That is actually why Germany post-1950 had such a high smoking rate. I learned a lot about lobbying, PR, and tobacco from a professor I had in college who was adjacent to the anti-tobacco movement. He even entertained my questions about Big Pharma (I always despised them because they've always been profiteers on disease) and Oxycontin and other shit drugs they've pushed and one website he showed had Pharma lawsuits alongside Big Tobacco lawsuits.

I wonder what that professor is doing now? Just looking him up shows some pro-Covidian leanings (I mean duh, he's a college professor) and I'm half tempted to shoot him an email and tell him how much I appreciate him for adding to my critical thinking skills.

First theres been a string of articles and news stories about empty shelves and supply chain issues.

This is so fucking retarded given our context. Our state has effectively been Covid Zero with a hard border for a very long time. Only now are we seriously developing any Omicron cases. Covid itself hasnt done a fucking thing. Hell, we dont even have cunts testing positive for a cheeky week off work yet like they did in the east.

The ACTIONS OF OUR LEADERS have clearly manufactured this "crisis". Conspiciously fucking absent from this shit article are the workplace mandates that affected 60% of employment in the state that went fully into effect a month ago. Could that be responsible for a labour shortage in the supply chain you think?

Next, proof of vaccination required for a bunch of businesses went into effect today. A number of them I simply dont care about, but right this second, today the establishments are taking its enforcement all very seriously. I expect their tune to change quickly when they realize its unenforcable and more hassle than its worth but the next month or so will be a nuisance. I must say though, banning the unvaccinated from bottle shops is the most brutally racist injustice inflicted upon the Australian Aboriginals in decades.
