The timing could not be worse and it is wholly unsurprising it ended up this way.

Also, only a fool would hope for SCOTUS to save workers in this instance given Roberts' and ACB's histories.

Basically, you have to ride it out until 2023 at the minimum, assuming a midterm rout by Trumplicans.

The spike component in Omicron doesn't show in the standard PCR test as it's so mutated it's become a different virus. But the vaccines which vaccinate against a virus that no longer exists still works against it.

It's obvious that a decision has been made by the Australian government. All restrictions on incoming travelers have been lifted. Even here in Victoria the coof pass restrictions on non essential shopping have been scrapped and the dirty unvaxxed are now being allowed to do pretty much whatever they like except go to restaurants and pubs. In NSW there's no restrictions at all.

So plot twist, the world's most ardent Covidian nation has decided to let the virus do it's thing. This will be confirmed if they scrap asymptomatic PCR testing, which for sure is coming. Hundreds of thousands of cases per day will induce too much fear driven panic, hospital admissions or not. Europe and the US are going to have a hard time re-starting lockdowns and force jabbing people when Australia of all places is moving to rely on infection to achieve herd immunity.

It's early days but it's looking good for the current insanity to be done with by January.

If there is a thing that time travel stories teach us, changing shit, even if it seems rather minor, can lead to things escalating out of control.

Time is, at least theorically, like a thread and if you change something, the threads get entangled and end up creating a whole new timeline thats radically different ala Flashpoint.

Well, I’m prepared to do just that. Don’t know how many others can hold out but man, it’s going to feel good coming out the other side of this never having gotten that shot. No matter what shit I’ve got to deal with between now and then, it’s going to be sweet.
 
Anyone who works in the government should answer to the people they serve and at least their work contact information should be freely available. Some public officials have their personal contact information out there as well. It's not exactly insidious.
