Yeah that tik-tok stuff is really stupid I get that they want to show the world morale is high at their hospital but it sends the wrong message, I am certain this pisses off nurses and doctors in hospitals that are being swamped with a heavier case load. It tells me that loosening the lockdown based upon regions seems wise because "flattening the curve" was the main reason for the lockdowns in the first place. I bet you $100 this concept was started by a female staffer.

the problem with that is no nationwide testing, like literally it was easier to get tested from returning to Singapore vs. now after dealing with a heavy workload of cases. like I get it we need to reopen at some point but it's just gonna come back if we reopen with possibly hundreds up on. hundreds of potential cases out there.

Yes, because tennis is such a disease vector.

Listen, you don't understand

they have to be seen as doing something

and they can't be seen as not doing enough

and they don't dare not do something other states are doing just in case someone asks them why not

We need term limits for these fuckers so "I must be re-elected" stops being a higher priority than "I must actually do my job."

Am I missing something here, why are they starting public property shutdowns as late as May 1? Aren't a bunch of other states getting ready to do staged re-openings? I know where I'm at has already opened some outdoor stuff for residents (no out of towners allowed).

Speaking as a relative of a healthcare professional working at a major hospital, the reason is that the floors other than the WuFlu floors are slow, and they can’t operate on patients who aren’t actively dying. If nobody is getting into car accidents or exploding in bonfires, then there are a lot less patients in the ER, for instance. The relative in question has been getting free vacation days because of how slow it’s been in certain parts of the hospital.

Not suggesting that this is even slightly promising:

... but I love how Trump's stupidest pronouncements leave me wondering after a while if he can bend reality to his will.

"Our team has shown that administering a specific spectrum of UV-A light can eradicate viruses in infected human cells (including coronavirus) and bacteria in the area while preserving healthy cells," stated Dr. Pimentel of Cedars-Sinai. Ali Rezaie, MD, one of the inventors of this technology states, "Our lab at Cedars-Sinai has extensively studied the effects of this unique technology on bacteria and viruses. Based on our findings we believe this therapeutic approach has the potential to significantly impact the high morbidity and mortality of coronavirus-infected patients and patients infected with other respiratory pathogens. We are looking forward to partnering with Aytu BioScience to move this technology forward for the benefit of patients all over the world."

So it's likely Trumps advisory board have information about various medical patents being processed and the current reports they have on preliminary testing. Trump probably just thought out loud which caused his people to facepalm. But literally the news is all over it "Trump endorses drinking detergent!!!!!".

I mean anyone can have their own opinion on the situation but I feel like what he said was pretty fucking stupid and irresponsible hence why he followed it up later with a "it was sarcasm" excuse and then dipped out of question period during his presser. If you don't know what you are talking about let the people who do, do the talking.

Anyways I thought this meme was pretty funny.

Their State is opening up on the 1st! This is the even more insane leftists in the big city pushing back against the evil Trumpian's who want grandma to die or something. We've seen this in a few other Cities seeking to counter States opening up. It will be fun to watch. An interesting article I just read about McConnell's isiotic idea for State Bankruptcies reminded me of why this will end hilariously bad. By design States are Sovereign Entities. They have full and near complete local Sovereignty. While they cannot supercede Federal Law, beyond that they are the end point. Cities have NO Sovereignty. They are simply bureaucratic extensions of the State they are located in. The State can order a lockdown. Constitutionally the City or Counties cannot without the States approval. They have no such powers and cannot ever have such powers.
