Couldn't put it better myself really. Crozier screwed up by circulating the letter outside the chain of command but 'he'd had a bad day'. Trump wouldn't have fired Modly but he did commend him for his 'really unselfish act' in stepping down.

This is actually a really interesting situation - those sailors applauding Crozier seemed to imply that, horror of horrors, a mutiny wasn't out of the question. Clearly, Modly had to go. Especially after this speech.
They should do some Starship Troopers shit like have Modly's replacement bust Crozier down to private for leaking the letter and tipping the Bugs off to a possible military weakness but then putting him back in charge of the ship because he's shown he cares about his men. Which, looking at it, means they'd have to make him a Captain again.
The fact the speech leaked to the media (just like Crozier leaked to the media) proves the entire ship is fucked. They are going to have to replace and retrain the entire crew.
You don't leak inside information from an active military because it is exceptionally dangerous(as in can get people killed).

Indeed. I don't know how they did it, but even when I make new accounts it appears to be shadow banned and/or comments I make are selectively shadow banned to make me look bad. It's bizarre and scary. The person you argue against says whatever they want, but then my rebuttal with cited sources somehow is only visible when logged in to my account; after which the jerkoff redditor that was demanding proof gets to post something like: "See they never even responded, what a fucking joke!"
Has happened to me multiple times. I just avoid the place for years now.
A random redditor is no better or worse than an accredited journalist. It's good discussion.

@Joseph Stalin assuming malice is behind the lockdowns is unwise. The WHO is plenty malicious. But the lockdowns aren't, not for most countries. Although some of the people pushing for them are. Thing is, in high density areas they are NEEDED to keep the healthcare system from overloading, and the same goes for areas with insufficient healthcare systems. Issue is they're being horridly misapplied to areas that don't need them and certain assholes are trying to turn them into a tool against Trump and Japan, but it's not about keeping people down or treating them like animals. As always, it's about idiots misapplying treatments and blaming other people for their woes without caring about the truth. As they say, no words are scarier than "I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

You can also tell the dude has never operated in a business environment or in any situation that requires deal making. You can always make a deal, even if there's a written contract. Doesn't mean it will be a successful negotiation, but you can always talk to a person and try to work something out; hence the importance and value of personal relationships.

Indeed, this government is probably the first traditionally "liberal" government we've had in a full political era and the instinct was to try and keep as much going as normal, hence social distancing. The lockdown came after a weekend in which ministers spoke of having to psych themselves up to make these announcements.
Could all be bullshit theatre of course, but doesn't match with people who prefer people not meddling constantly in their lives from government making up a lot of the government's current front bench.
