Don’t get me wrong, theres plenty of mask wearers including myself, but also wearing latex gloves while standing right next to you is downright confusing. Same with littering your PPE afterwards. The whole point is to limit contamination and disease spread as much as possible.

The government is actively telling everyone it's OK to go out and do stuff now as long as you create a bubble around yourself and don't let anyone in. I think they know they don't have the resources to actively stop people from going outside, so they're trying to get ahead of it by encouraging social distancing and telling you it's OK to go on a hike or whatever. We also only have 75 active cases in the province at this point, so I guess it'd be a bit silly to tell people they can't go outside.

I took my son down to a secluded beach that's about a few miles long and the only other person there was some old lady blowing bubbles for her dog(?!) about a quarter mile away from us. We just tossed some rocks in the water, and picked up a garbage bag full of seaweed for the garden(It's very good for growing potatoes) and watched the waves crashing on shore and listened to the rocks rolling around and stuff. It was nice. He was going a little stir crazy. I'm glad our government isn't going all Tasmanian police.
 
Can we get a yay or nay poll on this thread if trump 'reopening the economy' this early will directly result in another significant spike in burgerland?

My local fancy grocery store (think Whole Foods knockoff) now has private security guards out front in full Afghanistan PMC wannabe cosplay (tan 5.11 pants, desert boots, Glock, rigger belt, Oakleys, etc.) to make sure there's less than ~150 people in the store. I don't imagine one telling a dindu like this he has to wait until somebody leaves to go in will go down well.

By closing residential streets, are they going to be basically barricading people in their neighborhoods? Sorry, can't drive to the store, your street's closed?

And remember Oakland isnt all ghetto. It runs from super-ghetto up to million-dollar-plus house neighborhoods. Will be interesting to see where this is implemented.
