But the tarmac absorbs the heat of the day and keeps you warm at night, and people don't drive at night anyway- it's the perfect place to nap!
Most of the roads getting slept on are unpaved and barely used. People do it because the stretch of bare dirt discourages snakes from thinking they can come cuddle up to you for your body warmth at night.
