I've been playing table top WoD for about fifteen years. nWoD is probably my favourite system. I really, really, really like nWoD's Hunter. My best moment this year was a game I was playing with @hurrhurrhurr and we tossed a vampire's coffin out of his penthouse apartment balcony in broad daylight and then all sorts of rotschek based hilarity ensued.

I actually have a funny story about WoD. This was a few years before my time, but still . So my college's gaming club would have a bi-weekly Vampire larp in a public park during the evenings. It was kind of a seedy part of town, especially after dark, but they never really had any problems with the local meth zombies, so they figured it was okay. A few weeks into the larp, a cop car drove up to their gathering. The cops wanted to congratulate them for making the park safe again. Apparently the local meth colony had moved out of the park because they thought the club were ACTUAL VAMPIRES and had called the police-- which had then lead to the discovery and arrest of one of the top cooks/dealers. The cops were utterly delighted, and recommended they try Mage or Hunter when they were finished with their current game.

Thats just the best....

I've really wanted to PC in this. I've ran OWOD vamp, and Nwod Hunter. Ive always wanted to try changeling too but after my players telling me they like HP lovecraft and then getting made the game wasn't just FIGHT IT, I knew changeling would be way too hard to run.

I used to LARP in a kludged together system. The mechanics of new MET felt much better than rock-paper-scissors, but we all preferred the old clans.

We also made pretty good use of forums to keep us amused between sessions.

My friends and I played oWoD as our primary "home game" for years in high school. Then they introduced the new world of darkness, which had some of the worst game design and setting I've ever seen ever. It's like they gave the original WoD to someone and said "make it bland".

Fun fact: in nWoD if your character picks up a telephone pole and my character has a perfectly balanced sword, you have a much better chance of hitting me with your weapon because damage potential and to-hit aren't separated at all, thereby removing all nuance from weapons. Also there's only like four vampire clans anymore because fuck variety, but oops maybe we shouldn't have done that so 8,000 bloodlines.

It's telling that they have to bring back their old apocalypsed setting so soon after stubbornly insisting that we'd eat the mud and LIKE IT. White Wolf always had open disdain for it's fans, but nWoD lost my custom forever.

iirc Old WoD had different histories for everything, with the intent being that the GM would use whatever was relevant to their game in particular.

That was the excuse they used by 3rd edition when the house of cards started to completely tumble, but they were originally all supposed to inhabit one coherent universe. They just decided that they were no longer responsible for remaining coherent through the different product lines, because that was hard and they like easy, so they came up with a post-hoc justification.

Exalted used to be the distant past of the WoD too, until they retconned it out. That's why Exalted has a lot of high-mystical elements from the WoD, like the Neverborn and the Wyld. The horrible 'dark vision' of the future that the Bronze faction uses as justification for the usurpation was originally supposed to be a vision of the WoD.

This is now an Exalted thread.

There was a time I was in a V:TM LARP which was at the same time as the college's Campus Crusade for Christ meetings. We half-joked about performing a Sabbat Diablerie ritual near them for shits and giggles. Anyway, I need some editors for my WoD setting, would anyone mind helping?

I;d be interested in taking a look. Always fun to see other peoples ideas.

Did you hear about the Gurahl abomination that joined the Sabbat?
He became a Pander Bear

Anyone ever tried the nWoD game Slasher? It's caught my interest.

I've personally expressed great interest in the Prometheans NWoD game. The whole being an artificial lifeform being rejected by the world itself always intrigued me as a setting. Hunters would be one I'd be happy to play, and I'd be willing to have a try at Slasher if any of you gents try to run a game.

Of the OWoD bunch, my favorite is VtM. Mostly due to the fact that it was my gateway into the World of Darkness and it features some of my favorite lore components of the bunch.

Also am trying to run a game of Vampire, but I'm short a couple of players if anyone's interested. Games likely to be on the Weekends or on Tuesday and Wednesday (which got freed up)

I hilariously have pretty much every support book and main book for OWod Werewolf stored on this rig too, so if there's one of those games knocking about, I'd be willing to have a shot and unleash the wave of data for anyone interested.

Will definitely assist if you ask of me. I had to homebrew some stuff for the Kuei-jin in my game, since I don't have Kindred of the East and I don't like the fluff for the Kuei-jin to be honest.

I loved the old Mage rules.

Paradox was awesome.
The Techno-crats were awesome.
Mauraders were made of pure win.
The Nephandi oozed evil.

We mixed it with Wraith and had the best gaming of my life.

Fuck the new mages, little fishy bastards.
