On the Star Wars ones: Leia was valuable because she was a competent leader. She didn't spend time protesting. She was a member of the senate and then someone that spent time organizing and giving orders. She was literally issuing orders to pilots at Hoth.

Most of the others weren't issuing orders. "Women lead the resistance" Generals Dodonna, Riekaan, Solo, and Admiral Ackbar say otherwise. Rey is some nobody that has useful skills, as is knockoff Jan Ors (who is also completely expendable).
