Where are you getting that from?It was not accepted. You were put to death if you were caught. The only place that slightly accepted homosexuality was Athens and they got what they deserved. it was strictly forbidden.
The only reason we have this narrative that the "Greeks were gay" is because of one faggot historian professor who was woke before it was cool and decided to rewrite history. He didn't like masculinity at all and wanted to emasculate them. Yes he was also a faggot. It was a flat out lie. Always was. Universities just praised it because they love Gay Dick.
Romans were perfectly okay with gay sex as long as you topped, and as long as you refrained from violating another male citizen's dignitas (ie, as long as the bottom was a slave, a gigolo, an infames, or otherwise signficantly beneath you in status). They didn't give a shit that you were fucking men, as long as you weren't disgracing Roman men.
As far as the Greeks go, the city-states were so culturally diverse that there is no blanket culural rule, and homosexuality often was consider abominable, but Athens and Sparta were famous for their man-boy pederasty, while Thebans and Elis were noted for encouraging their soldiers to be gay lovers. These practices were noted by contemporary sources, not history professors trying to score woke points.
