Boakid also mentioned naming one of his snakes Nagini, I was totally going use that name if I ever did get a snake.I wonder if he wishes basilisks were real, I'm sure his parents would get him one and he'd look it right in the eyes the second he got it. The Boy Who Annoyed. Kid probably believes he can talk to snakes at this point because clearly he knows EVERYTHING there is to know about them. (Edit: And I really couldn't resist mentioning this... I'm sorry if it's a bit spergy)

Imagine being able to speak Parseltounge with these snakes.

The stories they'd tell...

I have no experience with reptiles, but have a great respect for those that work with them. This kid really is something else. I just watched this video:

--Corn snake in an enclosure that's far too small
--No foliage or hides in the enclosure
--Keeps pawing the snake even though he realizes that the snake is getting antsy
--Bellows when the snake strikes at him

This kid needs his reptiles taken away.

Also: Hellllooooo, Youtube! Argh, that's annoying.

His Corn Snake has the right idea. If only it could get away from him and find a shady environment to live out the rest of its days. Or a new owner... whichever.

I love that how of all of his pet reptiles, its the corn snake that refuses to put up with his shit.

Alright, my cousin is a snake breeder. I own a snake. This kid is terrible with his snakes. He holds them alright, but he keeps them in cages that are way too small and way too filthy. Some of those tanks did not have heat lamps. That's a major problem. And he has an Anaconda!? IS THAT EVEN LEGAL?

After seeing two videos now of the kid losing his shit after a corn snake strikes at him, I really want to echo the fact that corn snake bites do not hurt at all. During my time working the pet store, I've been bitten by corn snakes, almost bitten by a ball python, and have been whacked by iguana tails. Honestly the iguana tails can hurt more than anything a corn could ever do to me.

And he has an Anaconda!? IS THAT EVEN LEGAL?

I doubt that it is legal but of course that doesn't stop sketchy pet stores from selling them. Also one of his videos shows that the family has a dog. Dog's gonna get ate. :(

Its perfectly legal to keep an Anaconda, I keep a Reticulated Python and they get bigger. Not a single captive Anaconda has ever exceeded 18 feet, they really are not the giants or as dangerous as people make them out to be.

That also depends in where you are, I know my city disallows any "Large Animal", or any animal other than a cat or dog that's adult weight is regularly over 10kg.

Maybe they're not that dangerous normally, but this is also Boatard we're talking about. If he could get corn snakes to hate him I can only imagine the sort of damage an anaconda could do to him/his family, assuming it ever makes it to full size.

Legalities vary from state to state and city to city but in the US most places don't have ordinances against them.

The sad truth is that it probably won't.

It wouldn't need to reach full size before it could do some damage.

I am sure this has been covered, but is there a reason he has not been reported to animal control?

And where did he say he wants to feed his snakes kittens? Goddamn that is fucked.

Animal control does not give a shit about reptiles. Many times epople who abuse reptiles are not subject to prosecution because "ew snakes."

You think they'd get cps in there too, these aren't kids pets.

There is nothing wrong with kids keeping these snakes as pets, there are videos on YouTube of a young girl, with videos going back to when she was 8 who handles and respects these animals just fine. Thing is, her parents worked with her (In fact her dad does videos with her) and if you watch her videos you can see the huge difference. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people threaten to call CPS on people for owning large reptiles. It really just shows how irrationally afraid people are of these animals. The majority of reptiles are harmless. No one in the US has ever been killed by ANY lizard. Only 12 people have been killed in North America by large constrictors. What we need with these animals is to educate ourselves about them, so guys like me don't have to explain why I am not a bad parent for having large reptiles around my son.

Guessing there's a 'boy who cried wolf' element to it too where people who are scared of reptiles call animal control on their neighbours so often purely cos they're scared of the pets escaping that animal control ignores calls in about reptiles since they don't wanna go out and deal with the accusations when a lot of them are unfounded?

To some extent, but more often than not people don't care if reptiles suffer. Its why we still have rattle snake roundups, where rednecks nail rattlesnakes to boards with a nail gun while a crowd cheers.

You however actually give a shit, this kids parents don't. I can see letting a kid have a ball python, but that's not a burm. I'm the same with tarantulas, a responsible kid might be able to handle a docile temperament rosie or fire leg but there's no way you hand them a pokey. These animals are not tame, they might be tolerant, but they aren't domesticated.

His parents have a lot to answer for in this. I started keeping at 8 with Anoles and Iguanas. Nowadays we know whay that is such a bad idea but in 1993 it was not so well known. Fortunately my mom helped and we built a cage for them and everything.

Good thing I didn't have faith in humanity already or that would have killed it, fucking imbeciles.
