Essentially after building up enough savings, I have a goal to live a quiet rural life and try to be as self-sufficient as possible so would it really matter to me if US or China are in charge of the world?

"The new Chinese controlled US government has decided to enact eminent domain on your land. It will be seized and given to a large Chinese conglomerate to use to grow corn for cattle feed. You will be compensated the value of the land as determined by the new government (1% of what you paid for it.) This used to be illegal, but that was before the Chinese controlled government changed all the laws to make it legal, along with everything else we want to do. Do not protest, as that is now illegal, and you will be put into the concertation camps with the Uyghurs."
