For those who think it’s all fun and games with Wikileaks revealing information to the public, consider this: Wikileaks is thinking of invading citizens’ privacy by creating an "online database" with the personal information of all verified Twitter users.

We are thinking of making an online database with all "verified" twitter accounts & their family/job/financial/housing relationships.

Verified Twitter accounts display a blue icon to indicate that the person tweeting from the account is authentic.

Wikileaks has no conscience about those whom it might damage. As Gizmodo reported last July, Wikileaks published 19,252 emails from top US Democratic National Committee members, many of which included personal information about innocent donors including credit card, social security numbers, and passport numbers.

The Associated Press followed up in August, saying of Wikileaks:

But its spectacular mass-disclosures have also included the personal information of hundreds of people — including sick children, rape victims and mental health patients, The Associated Press has found. In the past year alone, the radical transparency group has published medical files belonging to scores of ordinary citizens while many hundreds more have had sensitive family, financial or identity records posted to the web. In two particularly egregious cases, WikiLeaks named teenage rape victims. In a third case, the site published the name of a Saudi citizen arrested for being gay, an extraordinary move given that homosexuality can lead to social ostracism, a prison sentence or even death in the ultraconservative Muslim kingdom.

Now Wikileaks is threatening ordinary citizens at-large.

Anyone using two xx'es in "doxxing" needs to commit suicide immediately.

I'd be okay with Wikileaks and Twitter destroying each other in an apocalyptic sperg war, assuming Twitter doesn't destroy itself first.

And this sort of shit is why I can't support WikiLeaks. For all the good they may do, they're into this shit too. I bet Julian Assange would rage hard if someone started leaking all sorts of information about him and his little pet project.

Maybe don't fucking send shit like that in plaintext emails, then, you fucking retards.

Internet security 101, don't send your CC info to someone via email.

Boy this is a fine line. Why are they thinking of doing this? I mean, Twitter harbors an inordinate amount of scum that the staff apparently can't be asked to take care off (Pedophiles, ISIS sympathizers and propagandists, etc.), but at the same time there's a lot of people that for some unfathomable reason think Twitter is not a shit social network and have committed no further sin than that.

I wonder what's the end goal of this move.

Maybe people like Flynt and Quinn made them all asshurt or they just really fucking hate checkmarks. I honestly don't know their logic behind this.

Besides, we've already seen these people get doxed as it is. Doing it a second time would be pointless as fuck.
