Why there aren't any April fools pranks?

Today is April fool's day for second year in the row? Did it get cancelled or is this some meta level April fool's day?
I still remember when everyone was forced anime avatars, the temporary hell from which there was no escape?
Or is it my Finnish ass who lives in the future post April fool's reality?
