Why not use military time?

I'm in a country that uses military time (ie 24 hour clock) and I just can't understand not using it as a standard. It's far easier to organize and you can't get confused between AM and PM.

I can't see a logical reason to use military time unless you yourself served in the military. Why the fuck would I just use it randomly? it's just tedious and time consuming (no pun intended).
